BRIEF HISTORY

Davao Central College, Inc. formerly known as Davao Central College

Institute was founded in 1948 by a group of UCCP Christians lead by Mr.

Salustiano Advincula. It started as High School since the nearest high school

during the time was 15 kilometers away. It is a non-sectarian school that caters

to all students from all walks of life. It adopted the motto” LIVE LOVE and LIGHT”

with Jesus Christ as the inspiring model for living.

The existence of DCC was greatly challenged by two separate incidents

that completely razed the school in 1959 and 1991. After the first incident, other

member s of the corporations gave up but Mr. Advincula had the courage and

vision to go on. Since then, DCC never ceased for occurring on with its service to

the community. In 1973, it marks the beginning of College Programs with the

Bachelor of Arts as the first course offered. Today , DCC had both Elementary

and Senior High School , BSED, BEED, BSBA, BSHRM, BSAct, BSIT and

Technical – Vocational courses. In 2006, it was granted level, accredited status

by the ACSCU-AAI for Elementary, High School, BEED, BSED programs and in

2012 BSBA programs was granted level 1 status , DCC continuous to respond

to the needs of the time by recruiting more competent faculty and staff, as well

as appropriate and relevant programs in the tertiary level.

DCC ALMA MATER SONG

What a bright day with weather do gay and fair

There’s a great joy in my heart

And sweet music in the air

‘Coz we’re happy,

Oh mother, so happy

To be with you and learn

From you, from day to day

Davao Central College, alma mater

Dear we are singing do you

Hear?

Always loyal, faithful ever

We all love you there’s no other

May God who’s on high

Never makes us cry

Makes us happy and never sigh

Brightness jewel Oe’r

The southern sky

We love you

Till we die.
