SUMMARY:

The postnatal period is the most critical of all stages in perinatal phases in theirs of psychological
issues, in the mental and emotional health of a mother. At this point in their life, the mother will
already see her child, and it is the beginning to adopt a new situation in her life, being a mother
to her child. At some instances, there is a significant impact of this situation the mother, which is
a psychological problem.

In some reasons cases like the teenager mothers who are not yet ready to expose in this kind of
situation, some were parents who expected a child gender, but in at birth the gender of the baby
is different as the expected gender, some have been in trauma. One factor that also contributes to
emotional changes in postnatal is social factors, family characteristics, and the environment of
living and lastly the readiness of the mother to have a child.

The study shows, that some reason of mothers to have physiologic and psychological problems
is being a young mother how is not aware of in the changes in their life being a mother. The
status of a mother is one of the factors because of the lack of maternal feelings.
Relevance to patient:

Most of the cases that we encounter are young mothers, that you can see to them that they ate not
yet ready, not only physiologic but also in psychological affects them. They also feel the
discrimination in the area, especially when they are asked about their age. These is also
important to consider their emotional aspect as we care for them.

Relevance to the Phil. Setting:

Here in the Philippines mental health sometimes is not focus, as I observe sometimes they did
not consider the emotion of the patient, this article will help to the health care team in the setting
to respect the psychological aspect of the patient.

Relevance to Education:

For nursing education, we can emphasize more about psychological in the lectures, on how a
nursing student will handle a patient with care holistically for them to know about this. If
students inform about this at the earlier to them, they will practice in the area.

Relevance to Nursing Practice:

Nurses in the area will start to practice consideration of patient emotional care for this mothers
especially to the young because the excellent practice should begin to us nurses because we are
the one who always there for the patient

Relevance to Research:

These can be used as a reference journal or literature for future research.
