Gun control getting out of hand

Some people believe the issue of gun control started after November 22, 1963 when the

assassination of president John F. Kennedy occured, it drew a lot of attention on the lack of

control over the selling or possessing of guns in America. From there and so forth, so many

tragedies and precious lives were lost to a gun. Almost 13,000 people in the United States were

murdered with firearms in 2015 (not including suicide). A gunman killed 12 people and injured

15 others at a bar, in california. And let’s not forget more than 20,000 americans every year kill

themself with a gun. All of this means, people’s poor choices and hatred have have led to so

much violence this past few years.

Officers are taking too much power into their hands, them too, are out of control and

need something to be done about it. An alabama police officer shot a 21 year old black man at a

mall last thanksgiving. Turning a day of being thankful into a day of grieve and madness.

Witnesses say they couldn’t tell if the officer meant to shot or shot before he was killed himself.

At the funeral, his relatives said they were not informed by the police department, but rather

social media. Imagine what a cruel and sad way to find out a loved one died. His father called

the police station the night he was killed and was told he will get a call back for more information

about his son, but they never called back. They were trying to avoid the problem at first trying to

find an excuse for this tragedy that is now happening on a everyday basis.

The US is becoming horrifying from inside out, since the start, from the government to

the people. All is very tragic and gun control laws NEED to be more strict. Young teens get a

gun to “protect” themself but really, when they pull that trigger they will end 2 lifes in total, their

own and the victim. In most states when a teen kills somebody they are tried as an adult and will

be charged with first degree murder, etc.

I believe that "Gun bans don't disarm criminals, gun bans attract them" – Walter Mondale

I don’t mean there shouldn't be any gun bans, but all that they do is make criminalds more and

more attracted to the destruction and pain they can cause for someone else. But I do believe

instead of locking these people up in cells (if they decide not to use death penalty) to get them

help, clearly there's something wrong with them. Criminals aren’t born, their made. There might

not always be a second chance for somebody but I believe everyone deserves it.

In my lifetime, there have been countless deaths, injuries, tragedies due to gun

violence. We happen to live in a country where gun violence is among the most prevalent in the

world today: The United States of America. It is something small, yet an extremely dangerous

factor in our everyday lives. The "right to keep and bear arms" could be beneficial and

dangerous at the same time. While many believe that the second Amendment, "the right to keep

and bear arms" provides security and self protection, I believe it only gives people to make

mistakes and have blood on their hands they didn’t want in the first place.
