‘Personalised Learning’ is AeU’s term for harnessing the possibilities of new and emerging technologies to
provide highly connected and visual, media-rich, interactive learning experiences whenever our
students are located.
Capitalising on the new technologies, AeU delivers responsive programmes wherever students are
geographically (at home, on campus, at the workplace, on the go, in Malaysia or elsewhere); wherever
students are in their learning preparedness; and whenever students are in their career trajectory and
life stage.

Your campus without walls

At AeU, we bring the classroom to you. You’ll take part in classes and seminars, chat to other students
and sit exams – just like you would at any other campus.

Flexible study options to suit you

My Personalised Learning Space (myPLS) is your personalised
study hub, tailored to your individual learning needs. All
AeU students and staff connect and collaborate through
this platform. So you’ll always have access to the AeU
community, no matter where you are in the world. Students
enjoy the flexibility of online study, which they can do
anywhere at any time.

Study online anytime, anywhere

myPLS allows you to study in your own time and in any location.
Everything is available online, whenever and from wherever
you need it. Take classes while you’re on the go, login and
ask questions and contribute to discussions in the forum.
Your classroom is online, you can access all your learning
resources, participate in discussions and engage with
academic staff and your peers in your own time, which
means you can study when and where it suits you.

Access support and resources

Enjoy easy access to all the support you need, including
course materials and online study support. You’ll work in
real time with students and academic staff, get one-in-one
assistance and timely feedback on assignments. You’ll
have full access to library resources and facilities both
online and on campus.
Personalised Learning platform
The My Personalised Learning Space (myPLS) enables
students to:
• Use the myPLS classroom to watch lectures, submit
assessments and participate in discussions
• Use the myPLS discussion room to work together in real
time with students and academic staff, including
sharing videos and delivering presentations
• Download and stream lectures and presentations at
any time of the day.
• Get remote access to all AeU’s student support
services and activities
• Connect to a counselor or advisor, who can help with
course direction, study skills and techniques
• Have 24/7 access to the Digital Library’s resources and
services.
• Create public and private communities, including:
- Clubs and societies
- Countries and regions
- Programme-based group
- Personalized study groups
myPLS keeps you connected and in control, available 24/7
and accessible by mobile, tablet, laptop or desktop.

Ongoing and expert support

There’s an abundance of support services and resources available to all AeU students. You’re fully
supported – however, whenever and wherever you need it.

Weekend tutorials and seminars

Optional weekend tutorials and seminars are held for several courses once a month, giving you the
opportunity to chat with your peers and academic staff in person.

Student Advisor
You’ll be contacted by a senior student advisor in the early semester. They’ll also touch base with you
just prior to exams for any preparation tips or support you may need.

Study Mentors
Our academic facilitators are all available during study periods via numerous channels, including Skype,
Facebook, phone and email. On-campus mentoring sessions are also available.

Personal Support
Personal support and guidance is readily available across the University, including financial advice, how
to juggle work, family and study advice, managing time advice and physical health consultation.
