Analyzing the musical elements used in the different musical selections of the Lowlands of
Luzon

III. Procedure

Priming Activities
I. Motivation
A. Ask the students the following question/s

1. What are the different musical elements that you know?

2. Describe each musical element.

Development of the Lesson


A. Activity
Let the students listen to two of the musical selections of the Lowlands of Luzon and
let them observe the musical elements used.

B. Analysis

Ask the students the following question/s


What are the different musical elements which were used in the musical selections?
Describe each musical elements.

C. Abstraction
Conceptualization
Ask the students the following question/s
What are the similarities and differences between vocal and instrumental
musical selections of the Lowlands of Luzon in terms of their musical elements?

D. Application
Let the students name their favorite song and let them describe it by means of
their musical elements.

IV. Evaluation
Perform Activity Activities 2,3,4 on page 9 of the Learner’ Module

V. Assignment
Look for the map of the Philippines and describe the geography of the Lowlands
of Luzon.
