In my most recent practicum, EPT
433, I felt that there was a major
importance to provide the students
with explicit instruction of the activity.
At times it was easy to overload the
students with instruction and that is
where confusion arose.
-Ensure the students are settled and
focused at the beginning of the lesson
before commencing class instructions.
-Provide the students with one explicit
instruction at a time, with clear
expectations outlined.
-Ask the students if they can repeat
what is required in the lesson or
activity.
-Use effective verbal and visual
strategies to communicate content.
-Feedback from the supervising
teacher which is provided in the for of
feedback sheet that demonstrate my
ability to communicate and convey
instructions effectively.
