tense tells what has already happened, the present tense tells us what is
happening, and the future tense tells what will happen
 Tell students that by the end of the lesson, they will be able to identify the
past, present, and future tenses, and write a sentence using a tense
 Activity Steps
 Read a sentence
 Circle the verb. (On this step, think aloud using the verb tense chart from the
introduction of the lesson

Activity: Have students follow the steps you modeled to complete 2-3 sentences on
the Verb Tense Assessment handout with a partner. You know your students best.

with the correct label
 Once assembled, have students work as a group to create an original

Period : 01 Topic: Prepositions

Objective (s): Students will be able to identify and use prepositions to write complete sentences.

Resources: Books, Black board

Methodology only salient/steps/features of the classroom teaching (selected in the
subject coordination meeting should be used):
Eclectic Methodology
 Write a sentence on the board that is missing a proposition (i.e. The dog sits the table.)
 Ask students what is wrong with the sentence (e.g. it's missing a word; it doesn't make
sense).
 Explain that, in this sentence, it is unclear how the dog and the table are related to one
another.
 Underline the word under in the new sentence and explain that this word is a preposition.
A preposition is a word that expresses the relationship between a noun and another word.
In this case, the proposition tells us the dog's position in relation to the table
Activity: Draw a new picture of a dog next to a table. Ask students to come up with a new
sentence that describes the picture (i.e. The dog sits beside the table.
 Write the sentence on the board and underline the preposition
 Have students turn to a neighbor and discuss why a preposition is an important
part of a complete sentence. Call on students to share answers and guide the
discussion as needed (i.e. A preposition helps us understand how a noun or the
subject of the sentence is related to other words in the sentence; when the
preposition changes, it changes the meaning of the sentence; without a
preposition, a sentence won't make sense).

Success Criteria: successfully identify preposition in text

Assessment Plan: On spot (Oral / Written)
Assessment Plan for Struggling Learners: On spot guidance / Individual attention
