The following steps outline how to use the commercial waste weights calculator
1. Define the time period of interest (month/quarterly/year). This does not affect the calculation; it is there to p
it shows if the estimates represent a week, month, quarter or years worth of commercial waste/recycling. For example, if
1 months of waste, you could enter 'October 2013'
2. Input the total number of bins by waste stream and container type emptied by your waste contractor du
time period. For example, you may have a 360 litre bin for refuse and 360 litre bin for mixed paper and cardboard emp
basis. If you are calculating a months worth of waste/recycling you would enter '4' under commercial refuse 360 and '4'
paper and cardboard (4 weeks of waste/recycling).
3. Indicate how full the bin is when it is typically emptied e.g. 100% full, 50% full etc
4. The calculator provides a total weight of all waste/recycling as well as a breakdown by material and a 'r
