1. What is your understanding of DEPED’s vision and mission?

The Department of Education aims and foresees to help the students to have a better education, to be globally
competitive by educating their mind and heart, this will be possible through the help of the teachers as
facilitators of learning, administrators and staff to ensure a safe and effective environment for learning, family,
community and other stakeholders to support by having shared responsibility in developing the learners and
finally the learners as the center of the program.

2. What is the role of our school in delivering the DEPED vision and mission?
Nothing is better than a goal-driven life. The school must educate the students about the vision and mission of
Department of Education so that the students will be aware of the goals and to help in achieving them. The
vision and mission will also serve the students as their guide as they go on with their studies. The school must
also conduct trainings to train the teachers to be more effective and efficient. The school must also conduct
activities to let the stakeholders be actively involved in achieving the goals. Finally, the school must provide
conducive for learning classrooms with good ventilation, disease-free environment and enough learning
materials for learners. This may add burden to the school especially to the teachers and this might be impossible,
but if we work hand in hand with the students, other teachers, stakeholders and with the wisdom of our
Almighty God, nothing is impossible.

3. Give atleast 3 problems that you are experiencing in our school.

Problem 1 Since our school is still growing, it is acceptable to have lack of


Lack of conducive classrooms, facilities, library, electricity and water supply. As
classrooms, learning teachers, we are trying to look for some ways on how to elevate
materials, other the condition of our school, but our efforts are still lacking, we still
structures and the need a helping hand from other institutions. The students and
like. teachers are suffering every school day because of these, especially
when there are videos needed to be presented in the class, we just
utilize our laptops instead of television since we don’t have enough
source of electricity. The students’ comfort rooms are giving
discomfort due to lack of water that push them to go home just to
be comforted.
The teaching-learning process will never be successful if we are
lacking the things mentioned above. I hope these problems will be
addressed soon.
Problem 2 As a Zamboangeña, raised by a Christian family, it took me more
Language barrier efforts, patience and adjustments to understand the culture and
and the like traditions of the learners and trying not to misinterpret them since
they have a different belief. At first, I always get mad right away
because of the tone of their voice, their gestures and manners but
as years go by, I realized that I am just exaggerating things. As a
teacher, we need to look for ways to help them to grow through
constructive criticism. Judge less, understand more.

Problem 3 Our school is located in an area where the Zamboanga siege


Lack of security happened way back 2013. The area is not that safe, few years ago
we received a threat. With that, we are really in need of security
guard and the like. We have more or less 370 students and we
cannot take care of them all, we need security guards. Fortunately,
we have SSG officers to lock the our gate made of bamboo slats
during class hours but they can’t be always at the gate or roaming
the school campus since they are learners too, they need to attend
classes. In case of emergency, we can’t imagine what will happen
to us. I also want to add one more thing, our fence is not that safe,
it will be better if we have a fence that is made of cement since we
only have a fence made of bamboo slats. I hope this problem will
be addressed soon.
