Mathematics I

I. OBJECTIVES

At the end of the lesson the pupils are expected to:

 Count and tell the number of objects in a given set.


 Recognize cardinal numbers 1 to 10.
 Find pleasure in doing classroom activities.

II. SUBJECT MATTER

Topic: Counting Numbers 1-10


Concept and Skills:
1. Concept of 1-10.
2. Rote counting
References: Mathematics Grade I Teaching Guide p. 21-24
Mathematics Grade 1 Learner’s Material p. 27-32
Materials: basket, orange, picture of fruits, numerals, chocolates, biscuits, candies,
cartolina, pentel pen, boxes and brown envelop.
Value Focus: Enjoyment in doing one’s work.

1. Presentation
I have here different pictures and number
cards. I will paste the number cards on
the board while the pictures are at the
table face down. All you have to do is to
pick one picture and count the objects in
the picture loudly. Match the picture on
the numerals pasted on the board.

boxes.

Class I will divide you into three groups.
Each group will be given one envelop.
Inside the envelop is white cartolina and
color pens. I want you to look around the
classroom and find sets of objects 10 or
less. Draw them in the cartolina and tell
how many objects are there in each set.

The group with more sets of objects drawn


wins the game.
