The Philosophy of Sex

Topic/Lesson

1. Difficult Concepts (What concepts did you find difficult to understand?)

i. I find it quite difficult to understand the concept of sex and love.

ii. I find it quite difficult to understand why did the article chose female respondents
instead of male respondents?
iii. I find it quite difficult to understand why women want to have sex to a guy that
they barely knew.
2. Insights (What new insights or learnings did you gain in discussion/ activity?)

i. Before reading the article/understanding the lesson, I thought men are more engage to
sexual acts instead of women
However, reading the article/understanding the lesson, I now think/realize
That women are more “wild” and “energetic” when it comes to sex that there is a rule
that male partners should satisfy first their female counter parts in order to have a
healthy and intimate relationship for this are some reasons why women cheat that if
they did not reach their climax they tend to find the satisfaction they are longing for
with other people.
 ii. Before reading the article/understanding the lesson, I thought masturbating is a sin
and it is an immoral act.
However, reading the article/understanding the lesson, I now think/realize
masturbating is a normal act when it comes to the field of science and health for our
body is only complying to the stimulations around his/her environment to satisfy the
needs of their body for masturbation has a lot of benefits not only for the goodness of
one’s sexual desire but it helps a lot through our physical, mental and societal needs.

iii. Before reading the article/understanding the lesson, I thought that having a twist while
having sex like “role playing” is a good thing for partners who want to try something
new while making love.
However, reading the article/understanding the lesson, I now think/realize it is not good
for partners to do it for this is one of the cause why some men look at women as mere
objects, for this “fantasies” are being used to treat women lesser than they are usually
are in which in some parts it is degrading the rights of your partner.

3. Questions (What questions would you want answers for? Or vague areas you want more
explanations about?
i. Is it morally acceptable to have a one night stand with a person you completely
don’t know ?, just to satisfy your thirst for lust and “love”.
ii. Why does Filipino adolescents and young adults tend to do the western culture of
drinking and being liberated in a very young age, where hence we are living in an
Asian/disciplinarian/conservative country ?
iii. How come a lot of people always intertwined love with sex ?
