Globalization and religion have a complex relationship where they both benefit and conflict with each other. Globalization spreads products and ideas that can encourage uncontentment with what people have, which conflicts with religions that teach contentment. However, religion provides people with identity and spiritual guidance to deal with stresses of modern life. While globalization can replace traditional communities, religion gives people a sense of belonging. And religion uses technologies spread by globalization to more widely spread its teachings. Overall, their relationship helps each survive and build a greater world, even if they sometimes oppose each other.

The relationship between religion and globalization is quite intertwined since
both benefited from each other and they also share some ill-fate. Globalization is what makes our world connected to each other while religion is what helps us to connect with God and to be His good servant. The two have different purposes that became one of the conflicts that they are sharing, but what is their real relationship? Are they friends or enemy? Globalization creates someone to be uncontented with what he/she’s having because as the world become one, products from different countries lures and encourage someone to desire for more than what he/she is having and it gives conflict to what he religion teaches its member- to be contented for what God has given unto you. With this conflict, however, the two share some quite good relationships since, as the globalization creates mental stress or undesirable behavior of being uncontented, religion helps these people to be enlightened with God’s word by teaching them to be contented and to have a peace of mind and a home that would embrace them from the unfairness brought by globalization. Another one, globalization replaces traditional communities into larger organizations that makes other people feel like they are grabbed out from their real identity and put them into an organization in which they are not well known of. Fortunately, religion gave this people an identity in which they can consider as their own and find theirselves in this modern time. As globalization creates problem, religion is there to be the problem solver. On the other hand, religion benefited from globalization in a way that religion benefited from advancements of technology brought by globalization. It helps religion to spread the word of God to other countries without even bothering to travel. Simply, they use technology to reach wider range of population and spread the God’s word. Also, globalization gives religion a platform to deal with bigger organizations and be considered in every decisions that these organizations made. Although it may seems that they give problems to each other, globalization and religion actually help each other to build a greater world wherein each one of them exist and trying to survive in this modern world. Therefore, globalization and religion are friends even though they were sometimes an enemy to each other, we must all remember that having a fight with a friend will help your relationship stronger.
