be on stage, Pamela loves to spread joy and laughter to

GRIMSBY LIFE CHAIN REPORT
There was some sun, rain and excitement at the Grimsby
Life Chain this past Sunday! About 250 participants gathered
at Main St. and Christie St. for an hour of silent prayer to end
abortion. Participants witnessed to the truths about Abortion.
The excitement was courtesy of the Handmaids Local 905 - a
radical pro-abortion group that sent about 20 counter-
protesters. While everything remained peaceful, they tried to
intimidate and make their hatred of Christians and pro-lifers
known by what their spokesperson said over a bullhorn. Our
pro-life supporters were not intimidated. Instead, we were
encouraged. Blessed are you when others revile you and
persecute you and utter all kinds of evil against you
falsely on my account. Rejoice and be glad... (Matthew 5:11)
At the end of the hour, we were able to gather in the
parking lot to pray and sing "Amazing Grace" together -
testifying to the fact that none of us is deserving of
God's grace. Thank you to everyone who participated
and to those who upheld Life Chain in their prayers!

parish, just because you attend Mass here.

referral, etc.), it would be difficult to issue one if you
are not formally registered with the parish.

Like the leper in today’s
Gospel, we realize that we
have been cured despite the
“illnesses” we face, that our
blessings far outweigh our
struggles, that we have reason
to rejoice and hope despite the
sadness and anxieties we must

There are still “lepers”
among us, people we have consciously or unconsciously
cast out of society’s gates by fear, mistrust and self-
interest. They are the lepers – but we suffer the disease.
Faith begins with the practice of gratitude, gratitude
that is grounded in the conviction that God has breathed
his life into us for no other reason than love so deep we
cannot begin to fathom it — and that the only fitting
response we can make to such unexplainable and
unmerited love is to stand humbly before God in quiet,

ST. HELEN PARISH BREAKFAST
A note of thanks to George Savage and Dan Minello
who tirelessly organized our first parish breakfast on
Sunday. Thank you also to the many volunteers who
assisted with this in any way; the task however large or
small contributed to a very successful and well attended
breakfast social. It was a great opportunity for our
parish family to come together and just chill while
breaking bread!
WEEKEND MASSES IN OCTOBER
During the month of October, we will be reciting the
Rosary before Mass as a community. Please make an
effort to come 15 minutes early to join us.
ANNUAL BISHOP’S CHARITY DINNER
The Knights of Columbus invite you to attend the
Bishop's Charities Dinner at Club Roma,

putting out the call to anyone who would like to be part
of this team - including those who don’t have a
certificate. As a volunteer, you may want to come out
only once or twice a year and others more often
depending on availability or type of event. Kindly let
the office know when you sign up. This info will be
helpful to us so we know when we can call.
OCTOBER IS EXTRAORDINARY
MISSIONARY MONTH
Next Sunday is World Mission Sunday. Every parish
across the globe will celebrate this event. It is a global
sign of the Universal Church and mission. On this day,
Pope Francis invites all Catholics to contribute to a
special collection for the Propagation of the Faith.
Your support will help missionaries in proclaiming the
Gospel of joy and peace around the world. Please join
us in this special day that unites Catholics from all over
the world through prayer and care for the Church’s
mission. Your donations will support churches,
hospitals, schools and train seminarians and religious
Brothers and Sisters in Asia, Africa Latin America,
Oceania, and some of our Canadian dioceses. Please
use the envelope attached to this bulletin or pick one up
round table in the parish entrance.
DIOCESAN ANNIVERSARY MASS
Married couples celebrating a 25th, 40th, 50th or 60th
anniversary in the year 2019 are invited to the
diocesan anniversary Mass, Monday November 25,
2019, 5:30p.m. at the Cathedral of St. Catherine of
Alexandria, St. Catharines. To register and receive a
