Personal Identification is defined as establishing the identity of an


individual. The need for personal identification arises in natural mass
disasters like earth quakes, tsunamis, landslides, floods etc., and in
man-made disasters such as terrorist attacks, bomb blasts, mass
murders, and in cases when the body is highly decomposed or
dismembered to deliberately conceal the identity of the individual.

Police Photography is an art or science which deals with the study


of the principles of photography, the preparation of the photographic
evidence, and its application to police work.

Forensic Ballistics is the science analysing firearms, bullets and


bullets impact.

Questioned Documents Examination is a forensic science


discipline pertaining to documents that are potentially disputed in a
court of law. The examination’s primary purpose is to provide evidence
about suspicious or questioned documents using a variety of scientific
principles and methods.

Polygraph referred to as a lie detector test, is a device or procedure


that measures and records several physiological indicators such as
blood pressure, pulse, respiration, and skin conductivity while a
person is asked and answers a series of questions.

Criminal Procedure differs dramatically by jurisdiction, the process


generally begins with a formal criminal charge with the person
on trial either being free on bail or incarcerated, and results in the
conviction or acquittal of the defendant.

Criminal Evidence is any physical or verbal evidence that is presented


for the purpose of proving a crime. This evidence can take many
different forms and may also be introduced by the defendant to prove
that they are not guilty.

Court Testimony refers to the statements made by witnesses and,


when relevant, defendants during the course of a trial. These
statements, including prepared comments and answers to questions
posed by prosecutors and defense attorneys, are made under oath.
