Assignment #2

February 4, 2013

This is what my first grade classroom would look like if I had a classroom this large. For the flow
of my classroom I figured the students would enter through the door hang up their back packs above
the homework bins. After they take out their homework put it in their specific bin they would go sit on
the rug for calendar time. For my classroom I will have four groups all done through colors. (Red, blue,
green, and purple) I have my desks set up in a “U” shape because if I need to talk to the table to help
them as a whole or a specific person the shape gives me access to do that. I have a trash can in the
middle of the table so that way the students will not always get up to throw something away. They can
put their trash in their trash can and empty it right before lunch or at the end of the day to stop as much
distraction as possible. As far as the technology I would want in my classroom is the Elmo for an easy
way to show my students paperwork without having to make a translucent copy. I could do spur of the
moment activities. The computers I would use for as a center, and only as a center. I wouldn’t want kids
rushing to get their work done just to get a chance to use the computers. As far as another center that
would be leap pads. This gives kids who struggle to read a chance to enjoy books. I would also have a
smart board simply because they work just the same as regular white boards.
