Last month, my friend Derek and I decided to finally follow our 1 dream
and make our own 2 animated film. We are both into art, and we enjoy
making animations on our computers, so we decided to make a longer one. We were
thinking of making a film about the 3 birth of the first dinosaur
on Earth. What a brilliant idea, right? I thought about our film every night. Sometimes, I
imagined that it would be very 4 successful and that Derek and I would
win lots of 5 awards for it. Yesterday I decided to tell my brother
about it. ‘Not bad,’ he said, ‘but a film like that 6 came out last year.’
So, now we’re thinking of a different story. We don’t want to copy somebody else’s idea!
Our new 7 character is a scientist who wants to travel to the past when
dinosaurs were still living on Earth, and find a way to do research on them.

Hi Peter!
Do you remember that I went to visit my brother, Ian, 1 London last week? Well,
we spent the first day sightseeing. We took a bus tour 2 the whole city and
went to the top of the Shard for lunch. The view 3 there was amazing.
As we were going back to Ian’s house 4 the Underground, I started drawing

he started to move 6 the door to get off the train, but he stopped as he was
walking 7 me. ‘That’s really good,’ he said. ‘You should send it to the London
Underground website.’
You see, there’s a London Underground art project which puts up art for travellers to see when
they go 8 Underground stations. I’m going to send my picture in today!

being a tourist in your own city? Well, I tried it out! Living in a city 2 there
are always lots of tourists can be annoying but, when I joined them, I realised how fascinating
Sydney is.
On Friday, I got ready for my ‘trip’ and stayed at a hotel 3 is in the city

me really feel like I was a tourist! On Saturday, I went to Sydney Tower, a building

I did the famous walk from Bondi Beach to Coogee. There’s a beautiful six-kilometre road

to enjoy the beautiful views.
Anyway, thanks for sharing your idea with me! It’s nice to have a friend 8

Take care,
Andy

My family and I used to stay in a wooden house near Smith Lake when
I was a kid, and it was great, but when my friends organised a camping
trip there, I wasn’t so sure about it. I like trying new things, but camping
wasn’t one of them. I was looking forward to swimming though, so finally
I agreed. As we were getting ready to go swimming, I suddenly saw
something in the water. Well, I thought it was a snake, until I realised it
was just a piece of wood. But I wasn’t interested in swimming after that.
Also, the insects were annoying and it was so cold at night that I couldn’t
sleep. Now I know why camping isn’t my thing. The only nice thing about
it was sitting around the fire while my friends were cooking dinner.
