Learning Competencies/ Objective

At the end of the cycle, student should be able to:

 Identify the characteristics of and animal cell


 Identify and name atleast six organelles in the cell.
 Find the difference between animal and plant cell using Venn diagram.
ELICIT MATERIALS

The teacher will provide a jigsaw puzzle. Jigsaw Puzzle

 Leaf cells Bond Paper


 Nerve cells
 Blood cells Glue
 Structure of Plant Cell
 Structure of Animal Cell

ENGAGE MATERIALS

The teacher will ask questions that would further Bond Paper
direct the students mind to the lesson.
Jigsaw Puzzle
1. Can you identify the Cell Structure that
you arrange?
2. What are the plant cells among the
puzzles?
3. What are the animal cells among the
puzzles?
4. Can you identify the characteristics of
each puzzles?

EXPLORE MATERIALS

In an activity the students then will discover the Cartolina/ Manila Paper
differences themselves
Marker
1. Group the students.
2. Let them do the activity.
3. Provide instruction to each group to
follow.
4. Using a venn diagram, illustrate the
parts that are similar, different and
present to both plant and animal cell.
Guide questions:
1. Compare the shape of a plant cell
with that of the animal cell.
2. Which cell parts are found in both
cells?
3. Which are present only in animal
cells?
4. Which are present only in plant cells?
EXPLAIN MATERIALS

Let the students discuss the result of their activity. Pen and Marker

cells and the difference between plant and animal
cells

EVALUATE MATERIALS

Using a paper provided to the students allow them marker


to fill out KWL Chart.

EXTEND MATERIALS

Using recyclable materials, make your own model


of the cell.
