What is the ratio of the sum of the first 2 terms to the sum of the last 2 terms? Ans: 2:1
2. The average age of students of a class is 15.8 years. The average age of boys in the class
is 16.4 years and that of the girls is 15.4 years. The ratio of the number of boys to the
number of girls in the class is? Ans: 2:3
3. A person buys some pens and pencils. The pen costs Tk 7 each and pencil costs Tk 3
each. If he spends exactly Tk 81 and buys maximum numbers of pen possible under these
conditions. What is the ratio of pen to pencil? Ans: 3:2
4. A gasoline company wants to provide a customer with 1000 liters of premium gasoline
Tk 60 per liter by mixing X liters of regular gasoline Costing Tk 50 per liter, with Y liters
of unleaded gasoline costing Tk 66 per liter. How much of each gasoline should be used
to produce the mixture?
5. Arif’s Salary is twice that of Babu’s salary. Kabir’s salary is 1/3 of Arif’s and Malek’s
Salary is 2/3 of that Babu’s. Total salary of Kabir and Malek are what proportion of
Babu’s salary?
6. Daily earning of two persons are in the ratio 4:5 and their daily expense 7:9. If each saves
Tk. 50 per day. What is their Income?

8. A certain College has students to teacher ratio of 11 to 1. The average annual salary for
teachers is Tk 26000. If the college pays a total of Tk 33, 80,000 in annual salaries to its
teachers. How many students does the college have?

1) A trader purchases blue paint and yellow Paint at a price of Tk 110 and Tk 100 per liter.
he mixes blue and yellow paint at a ratio of 1:2 to make a certain pain of green color. He
sells the green paint at a price of Tk 120 per liter. If the trader makes a profit of Tk 2000,
how much yellow paint (in kgs) did he use in the mixture?
2) A drink contains 20% mango juice, 20% guava juice and 60% Apple Juice. You added
250ml of water to 750ml of the drink. Now what will be the ratio of water to apple juice
in the diluted drink?
3) Rahim bought 2 varieties of rice costing Tk. 5 and 6 per Kg each. Then he sold the
mixture at Tk. 7 kg, making profit of 20%. What was the ratio of the mixture?
4) Padma purchased 30kg of rice at the rate of Tk 17.50 per kg and another 30kg rice at a
certain rate. He mixed the two and sold the entire quantity at the rate of Tk 18.60 per Kg
and made 20% overall profit. At what price per kg did he purchase the lot of 30 kg rice?
5) A merchant has 1000 kg of sugar, part of which he sells at 8% profit and the rest at 18%
profit. He gains 14% on the whole. The quantity sold at 18%profit is?

cost of materials rose by 10%, cost of labour increased by 8%, but the overheads
reduced by 5%. Find the increase percent in the price of the year? Answer: 6%
5. In the mixture of three varieties of tea, the ratio of their weights is 4:5:8. If 5 kg tea of
the first variety, 10 kg tea of the second variety and some quantity of tea of the third
variety are added to the mixture, the ratio of the weights of three varieties of tea
becomes 5:7:9. Find the quantity of the third variety of tea in the final Mixture.

6. Cost of a diamond varies directly as the square of its weight. A diamond broke into
four pieces with their weights in the ratio 1:2:3:4. if the loss in the total value of the
diamond was 70000, find the price of the original diamond ?
7. Initially two cups of same volume are filled with milk upto 3/5th and 4/5th of their
volumes. water is then filled. Then two mixtures are mixed and poured into a jug.
Find the ratio of water to milk in the mixture? Answer: 3:7

distributed in a day by a man, a woman and a children was 5:4:2. a total of how many
books were distributed on the second day ?

incomes is Rs 78800, then find the present individual incomes of A, B and C?

1. A Container contains 192 liter of Milk. A seller draws out x% of Milk and
replaced it with the same quantity of water. He repeated the same process for 3 times.
And thus Milk content in the mixture is only 81 liter. Then how much percent he
withdraws every time?

Replacement

1) A 20 litre mixture of milk and water contains milk and water in the ratio 3:2. 10 Litres of
the mixture is removed and replaced with pure milk and the operation is replaced once
more. At the end of the two removals and replacement, what is the ratio of Milk and
Water in the resultant Mixture?
2) A pot contains 81 liters of pour milk. 1/3 of the milk is replaced by the same amount of
water. Again 1/3 of the mixture is replaced by the amount of water. Find the ratio of milk
and water in the new mixture?

and replaced with water. Then what is the quantity of water in the final mixture?
