1. Two sides of a triangle are 5m and 6m. If the area of the triangle is 14.7m2, what is its third size?
2. Mr. David owns a triangular lot on the corner of two crossing streets, which intersect at an angle of 76°. The
front part of one street is 180m, on the other is 160m. If the lot is worth Php500 per square meter and he has
Php600,000 with which to increase the size of the lot, by how much Mr. David can increase the 160m part?
3. Two angles of a triangle are 40° and 80°, find the obtuse angle formed by the bisectors of these two angles.
4. Two sides of a triangle are 26m and 27m, while the height of the third side is 25m. Find the area of the
triangle.
5. A vacant lot has the shape of a trapezium having sides 8m, 10m, 18m, and 20m. If the sum of the opposite
angles is 250°, find the area of the lot.
6. The area of a rhombus is 150m2. If the longer diagonal is 30m, find the angle opposite the shorter diagonal
and the length of one side of the rhombus.
7. A piece of wire of length 60m is cut into two parts. Each part is then bent to form a square. It is found that the
combined area of the two squares is 120m2. Find the sides of the two squares.
8. A quadrilateral contains two equal sides measuring 12 cm each and an included right angle. If the measure
of the third side is 8cm and the angle opposite the right angle is 120°, find the fourth side and the area of the
quadrilateral.
9. If the sides of the parallelogram and an included angle are 10m, 14m, and 120° respectively. Find the length
of the shorter diagonal and the area of the parallelogram.
10. A trapezoid has an area of 200 m2 and an altitude of 8m. Its two bases have a ratio of 2:3. What are the
lengths of the bases in m? What is the perimeter of the trapezoid?
11. A rectangle and a square have the same area. If the length of the side of the square is 6 units and the
longest side of the rectangle is 5 more than the measure of the shorter side. Find the dimensions of the
rectangle.
12. If the diagonal length of a square is tripled, how much is the increase in the perimeter of that square?
13. If the length and width of a rectangle are double, by what factor is the length of its diagonal multiplied?
14. A piece of wire is shaped to enclose an equilateral triangle whose area is 27.71cm2. It is then reshaped to
enclose a rectangle whose length is 9cm., find the area of the rectangle.
15. A rectangle ABCD, which measures 9 ft and 12 ft, is folded once perpendicular to diagonal AC so that the
opposite vertices A and C coincide. Find the length of the fold.
16. Find the smallest angle of a triangle if the difference and sum of two angles are 30° and 110° respectively.
17. The area of an isosceles trapezoid is 246 m2. If the height and the length of one of its congruent sides
measure 6m and 10m respectively, find the two bases.
18. The diagonal of a rectangle is 25m long and makes an angle of 40° with one side of the rectangle. Find the
area and the perimeter of the rectangle.
19. How high is a tree whose shadow is 50m long when a 5-foot man casts a shadow of 6.5 feet?
20. The official ball diamond is in the form of a square. The distance between the home base in a baseball is
usually 35m. Find the area and distances between the bases.
