GENRES OF POETRY
______________1. The oldest poetry genre.
Tells a story
Example:
Homer’s Illiad and Oddysseys
______________2. It recounts a continuous narrative of heroic or mythological character.
Example:
Virgil’s Aenid, Indian: Gilgamish, Ramayana and Mahabharata
