external systems.

- Transmission of some selected parameters acquired from the external systems to the DMC

used for flight phase or warning computation process.
- Warnings are inhibited on E/W Display depending the flight phases (i.e: take-off and landing)

Discrete signals are DC voltages in the range from 0 volt to 36 volts, in which only two zones are valid:
- High level included between 18 and 36 volts.
- Low level included between 0 volt and 3.5 volts.

The FWC can acquire a maximum of six analog inputs (synchro information).
Only 4 out of 6 are used as follows:
- 2 analog signals are used to transmit flaps position (1 for system 1 and 1 for system 2)
- 2 analog signals are used to transmit slats position (1 for system 1 and 1 for system 2)
A synchronisation is used between both FWC audio outputs to prevent emission of confusing sounds.

The FWC units generate RS 422 protocol (9600 bauds) using output bus:
- Each FWC has 3 identical outputs of this type called "MESSAGE BUS".
- These buses transmit the warning texts under character string format (ISO 5) with variable length
to the DMCs.

If there is no fault, the ARINC word received is retransmitted without modification of the label, value
and SSM.
Two types of failure can appear at the reception level: Parity failure and refresh failure.

The SDAC acts as funnel, concentrating all different types of information and converting them into
ARINC buses, easier to transmit and process.

OFF/BRT knobs:
Control on/off and brightness for each ECAM DU.
Automatic adjustment of the display light intensity with changing light conditions in cockpit is
combined with manual brightness control.
NOTE: when the “upper display” knob is turned OFF the ENGINE/WARNING image is displayed on
the “lower display”.
- When depressed, the “lower ECAM display” displays the corresponding system page.
- The push-button illuminates after manual selection or when an advisory mode is active.

When depressed, the “lower ECAM display” displays the corresponding system page.
The push-button illuminates after manual selection or when an advisory mode is active.
- When depressed, all the system pages are displayed successively at one second time interval.
- In case of ECAM control panel failure, the ALL P/B allows to have a successive presentation of all
system pages and to stop on the desired one.

ALL P/B:
When depressed, all the system pages are displayed successively at one second time interval.
In case of ECAM control panel failure, the ALL P/B allows to have a successive presentation of
all system pages and to stop on the desired one.
- When depressed the STATUS page is displayed on the lower ECAM DU.
- If there is no STATUS message present, the indication « NORMAL » is displayed during five
seconds.

STS P/B:
When depressed the STATUS page is displayed on the lower ECAM DU.
If there is no STATUS message present, the indication « NORMAL » is displayed
during five seconds.
- This test will trigger a warning if the aircraft is not in T.O configuration.
- If the configuration is correct, the following message « NORM FOR T.O » is displayed on the
upper ECAM DU

- The inhibited caution is automatically cancelled when flight phase 1 is initiated or manually cancelled
when RCL key is depressed for more than 3 seconds.

CLR P/Bs:
Illuminates as long as a WARNING/CAUTION message or a status message is present on the
ECAM DU.
As long as the CLR P/B is illuminated, pressing it, will change the ECAM display contents.
- When depressed, the WARNING/CAUTION messages which have been suppressed by the CLR P/B
or by the flight phase related automatic inhibition are recalled.
