Fahrenheit 451 is a book that describes a life without walls, books, and real conversation.
It is a representation of a dystopia. The story revolves around Montag’s life. He is around thirty
years old and has a wife named Mildred. He is a firefighter and his life is mostly small talk. His
job is to burn and hide the truth. His wife, Mildred, always points out what she wants and is self
centered. Mildred and Montag’s new neighbor is a seventeen-year-old girl named Clarisse. She
thinks and observes all day and at night, she walks the streets and likes to share her wild,
In this dystopian future, books are illegal. If you have any books, you are supposed to
burn them. If you are caught lying, your house and books are burned to ashes. The firefighters
are responsible for this. They are forced to do these actions by the government. The government
wants to hide the unwanted truth for the rest of the society. Everyone has been so manipulated
into believing these lies that now, there is no small talk or discussion of any kind. In this life,

In the book Fahrenheit 451, there are many things to compare. To begin, the thought of

To compare the differences, the book has no walls, banned books, the firefighters burn
things down, and yearly pay. To start, in real life, people want you to read because it widens your
vocabulary and makes you smarter. Your house comes pre-built with walls, so you don’t have to
buy them. A firefighter's job in the book is to start fires and burn things, while in our life, it is
quite the opposite. In our world, a firefighter is supposed to prevent fires and save people. Both
the book and real life strive for equality. In the book, everyone is equal and cannot have books.
In real life, the majority of the population is working on having equal rights and treating each
other fairly. The yearly average for a firefighter in Fahrenheit 451 is around $6,000 while in real
All in all, our today society is a level up from the society in the book. Comparing this
book to our modern day life, most people would not want to live in the dystopian society of
Fahrenheit 451.
