2. Order of salvation: calling, regeneration, faith and repentance, justification, adoption, sanctification,
perseverance, glorification
- I have not actually thought of the series of acts and processes of my salvation. After reading “We
are Heirs”, it is only that time that I have deeply thought about being adopted by God into His
family; that He adopted me because He loved me.
3. Blessings of salvation – my sins have been forgiven, I am part of God’s family, God will meet my
deepest longings, I am promised of eternal life, I have a new identity
4. How does this truth line up with a cultural view of God as Father?
5. Benefits of being a first born son: had unique access to their father, to family resources, to the family
inheritance, and received the bounty of their father’s affection.
- Yes, I’m an heir in God’s kingdom
- As a child of God, I have unique access to my Father, to God’s resources, to the inheritance from
God, and I am receiving the bounty of God’s affection
6. I view God more as a Father, not as judge because as a Father, who has chosen me as His adopted
child, there is an intimate loving relationship with Him.
8. The most meaningful inheritance promise for me right now is: Romans 8:38-39
9. Being secured in God’s family, there is an intimate loving relationship with Him and we can
approach Him without shame and fear of condemnation.
11. Enslaved by sin and the ways of the world to feel acceptance from peers.
