ÁREA DE TUBERCULOSIS
DEFINICIÓN
La tuberculosis es una enfermedad:
Infecciosa: porque es producida por un microorganismo, el “Mycobacterium
tuberculosis o bacilo de Koch”.
Contagiosa: porque un enfermo con tuberculosis pulmonar que no está en
tratamiento transmite la infección a una persona no infectada, a través del aire.
Curable: porque con tratamiento directamente observado se cura al 100% de los
enfermos.
Social: porque sus condicionantes son socio-económicas y afectan a grandes
grupos de población.
OBJETIVOS:
Reducir la morbilidad y mortalidad por tuberculosis
Reducir la transmisión del bacilo de la tuberculosis en la comunidad
Prevenir el desarrollo de resistencia a las drogas antituberculosas
ESTA ÁREA SE ENCARGA DE UNA:
Atención oportuna a través de:
• Búsqueda activa de SR en servicio
• Censo y revisión de contactos
Atención accesible a través de:
• SBS con garantía de gratuidad en la atención
• Visitas domiciliarias
Atención eficaz a través de:
• Aplicación estricta de normas técnicas
• Tratamiento directamente observado en el servicio para prevenir abandonos
(DOTS-C)
Calidez – Trato humanizado a través de:
• Consejería a enfermos y sus familiares
Localización de casos
Tratamiento y seguimiento
Programación de necesidades de medicamentos, distribución y almacenamiento
Actividades de registro e información
Actividades de supervisión y evaluación

TUBERCULOSIS AREA
DEFINITION
Tuberculosis is a disease:
Infectious: because it is produced by a microorganism, the "Mycobacterium
tuberculosis or Koch's bacillus".
Contagious: because a patient with pulmonary tuberculosis who is not in treatment
transmits the infection to an uninfected person, through the air.
Curable: because with directly observed treatment, 100% of the patients are cured.
Social: because its conditions are socio-economic and affect large population
groups.
OBJECTIVES:
Reduce morbidity and mortality from tuberculosis
Reduce transmission of tuberculosis bacillus in the community
Prevent the development of resistance to antituberculosis drugs

• SBS with free care guarantee
• Home visities

• Strict application of technical standards
• Treatment directly observed in the service to prevent dropouts (DOTS-C)

• Counseling the sick and their families
