Lesson Plan for Regional Demonstration Teaching


In Food and Beverages Services (NC II)

Date: June 6, 2016 Week: 1 Quarter: II


Subject: Food and Beverage Services NC II Grade: 11 Semester: I

Topic: BOX SPACE TABLE SKIRTING
Learning Competency: LO2 2.2 Dress tables according to standard procedures and /
or any approved special requirements.

Objectives:
At the end of the lesson, the student should be able to
1. identify the importance of using table skirting
2. demonstrate the Box Space Table Skirting
3. observe the sanitation and precautionary measures in handling the skirting
materials
Materials:
1. 1 base cloth (white)
2. 1 colored cloth (longer than the base cloth)
3. Thumb tucks
4. Metal pins
5. Table
6. Laptop
7. Multi Media Projector
8. Curriculum Guide
9. Reference: www.youtube.com/tutorial in basic table skirting

Procedure:
A. Preparatory Activities
1. Prayer
2. Checking of Attendance
3. Reminders
4. Review of the Previous Lesson
B. Development of the Lesson
1. Motivation
a. Game – 2 pic 1 word
 Picture of a tail plus picture the word ble.
 Picture of skrit plus the word ing.
 Picture of box plus the picture of space bar in the keyboard
2. Presentation
a) Video Presentation of tutorial in basic methods of table skirting
b) Discuss the importance of using table skirting.
c) Teacher demonstrate the Box Space Table Skirting Method based on the
procedures given in the video presentation.
Procedure in Box Space Table Skirting Method
1. Place the base cloth on top of the table.
2. Secure the base cloth with the table using thumb tucks.
3. Using the colored cloth, we must locate the center part of the
cloth
4. Pin the center part of the cloth to your base cloth using a metal
pin
5. Measure 3 inches using a ruler or finger and pin in.
6. Measure another three inches and fold it and pin it.
7. After the fold, measure another 3 inches for the space, then fold
again and repeat and repeat.
8. Flatten the cloth so it will be like a square then start putting pin in
the cloth so it will not loosen or detached from its base.
3. Activities: Return demonstration by students
4. Application: Form a four group. Each group will demonstrate the Box Table
Skirting method. They will choose a representatives to perform the method.
C. Evaluation: Short Quiz
ESSAY. What is the importance of using table skirting?
Answer Key: The answer will vary, as long as the following word/s is present:
1. Indicates the mood of the occasion
2. Makes the table more appealing and attractive

D. Assignment:
1. Identify the procedure in Grand Organ Tubes method of table skirting and to
be presented at the class tomorrow.
