Technology Programs

The technology programs that are required for this plan of instruction are available at no cost via the
Internet. Teachers and students will need either a tablet, laptop, Chromebook, or desktop and
Internet access to utilize the programs. All of the programs will work using the browsers, Google
Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, and Microsoft Edge. Each program is easy to use by simply visiting the
sites. Users are not required to install anything, sign up, nor obtain a membership. The following is a
list of technology programs needed:

 AWW – (AWW, n.d.) AWW is an online interactive whiteboard. It provides many of the
same benefits as a physical whiteboard, but it has several additional technological advantages.
Users can easily use the onscreen toolbox to draw perfect shapes, change marker colors, and
upload images. To use AWW, type the web address into the browser. Next, click the “Start
Drawing” button that appears in the opening pop-up box and begin using the program.

 Learner’s Dictionary – (Merriam-Webster’s Learner’s Dictionary, 2019) Learner’s


Dictionary is an online dictionary for young learners. It allows users to quickly and easily
look up word definitions, parts of speech, and phonetic spelling. Each entry also includes a
link to the audio pronunciation of the given word. To use Learner’s Dictionary, simply type
the web address into the browser. Once the page loads, type a word you wish to define in
the “Search for definitions in simple English…” box. Next, click the magnifying glass
symbol or click the “Enter” button on the keyboard and the definition page will load.

 Plot Diagram – (Plot Diagram – ReadWriteThink, 2019) Plot Diagram is an interactive


organizational tool that allows users to map the events of a story using an interactive
pyramid shaped diagram. It helps readers to visualize the parts of a story in terms of action
and plot structure. To use Plot Diagram, simply type the web address into the browser.
Next, users will need to follow the prompts and enter the required information, like the title
of the project and the user’s name.

 StoryBoard That – (Clever Prototypes, 2019) Storyboard That is a design tool website. It
allows users to compose their own stories by utilizing a multitude of tools to create
storyboards along with accompanying text. To use Storyboard That, simply type the web
address into the browser. Once the new page loads, click on the “Create a Storyboard”
button near the top of the page. This leads the user directly to the canvass to start a new
project.
