“DRAMA IS EVERYWHERE”

Do you believe that drama is everywhere? Do you also believe that our

life is full of drama?

Drama was originated in Greece for 2,500 years ago. It is from a

simple choral readings to complete theatrical productions. It is also a

type of literature that takes advantage of people’s visual and auditory

senses. The term drama is a composition of written materials or the script

to be performed in different stages whether inside or outside depending on

the story they wanted to perform.

Drama has been adopted by different countries and has been performed

around the world. To answer the question life is full of drama, yes it is

true because every actions that we do and every words that we utter is

based on drama that is written and embedded on our brain or systems. In

drama, there are lots of guidelines, rules, elements, techniques, and

genres. According to Aristotle, there are six literary elements of drama.

These are the plot (every happening), theme (main idea), characters

(protagonist/antagonist), dialogue (lines), music/rhythm (sound), and the

spectacle (everything you see). As to its genres, there are 11 types of

drama and they are the tragedy, comedy, tragicomedy, closet, farce,

melodrama, morality, miracle, historical, musical, fantasy. Drama is not

just a drama but there are many benefits, moral lesson, and also enjoyment.

It also opens opportunity for those aspiring actors and actresses who

wanted jobs and for the artist, they are being recognized and honored

because of their creative imaginations to create dramas.

Today’s generation, drama has been performed around the world. It is

also included in school activities because they believe that students must

acquire knowledge not just on purely writing or discussions but also on

activities like drama.
