1) Continuous Function
If a function is continuous at every value in an interval, then we say that
the function is continuous in that interval. And if a function is continuous in any interval, then
we simply call it a continuous function. By "every" value, we mean every one we might name;
any meaning more than that is unnecessary.

2) Jump Discontinuity Function

The one-sided limits will never be equal if it's a jump discontinuity, so you want to look
at the left-hand limit by tracing the function from the left, or negative side, and identifying the
y-value where you run out of graph. ... Jump discontinuities are also called "discontinuities of
the first kind."
3) Point Discontinuity Function
Points of discontinuity, also called removable discontinuities, are moments within a
function that are undefined and appear as a break or hole in a graph. A point of discontinuity is
created when a function is presented as a fraction and an inputted variable creates a
denominator equal to zero.

4) Essential Discontinuity Function

Any discontinuity that is not removable. ... Formally, an essential discontinuity is
a discontinuity at which the limit of the function does not exist.

5) Removable Discontinuity Function

A removable discontinuity is a point on the graph that is undefined or does not fit the
rest of the graph. There is a gap at that location when you are looking at the graph.
