Administrative Law Judge

Nassau County Correctional Center
100 Carman Avenue
East Meadow, NY 11554

Dear Honorable Administrative Law Judge:

I am writing on the behalf of Helffis Garcia in his parole revocation hearing. It is my

understanding that Mr. Garcia needed to see his parole representative. In an effort to
fulfill that responsibility he, during his lunch break [how long is lunch? 1 hour?] (there
was no public transportation to get him to and from his meeting), to see his officer and
return to work he consequently made a poor decision. I am not excusing his actions, but I
believe in this case, another chance would be appropriate.

Allow me to use this correspondence to express what I view as some positive qualities of
Mr. Helffis Garcia.

I have been Mr. Garcia's employer for over 5 years. I am the (owner, general manager,
whatever your position is) at [state the name of your company]. Mr. Garcia's
"growth" during this time has been exceptional. He began as a laborer, promoted to
carpenter / installer and now has become one of two field supervisors. This position with
our company requires all of the skill levels that one would need to; communicate, interact
with our customers (some of our clients are Fortune 500 companies), supervise,
coordinate (10 - 12) workers, meet scheduling requirements and most importantly be
respectful, have a good attitude and be responsible.

If I may - what I see is a young man who has stepped up to overcome his challenges, had
gone through an excellent rehabilitation program, which completely changed his life, was
living those changes, supporting a wife and child and doing what was necessary to
comply to his legal and personal obligations. Mr. Garcia did not "relapse" in violating his
obligations.

Hopefully, the court can consider the great strides and the positives that Mr. Garcia has
made and the "motion picture" of his character could shine brighter than the "snapshot"
of his fault.

Sincerely,

Richard Barile
