Topic Respect the school community

Content Standard 2.1 Communicate simple information intelligibly.

simple action songs on familiar topics and other

6. Activities Pre lesson:


Teacher shows a short video on Teachers’ Day celebration.
Teacher asks the pupils a few questions based on the video.
· Have you seen this before? Where?
· Do you celebrate Teachers’ Day? Explain.

Activity 1:
1. Pupils are divided into small groups.
2. The teacher asks each group to discuss about the ways to show
respect to our school community.
3. Each group will share their views about what can be done.
4. Teacher gives feedback on responses.

Activity 2:
1.Teacher reads out a few sentences to pupils.
2. Pupils will raise green light for the sentences that show respect for
the school community.
3. Teacher gives feedback on the activities.
4. Task (Example of sentences)
- Pupils greet their teacher. (Green light)
- Pupils help teachers to carry the books. (Green light)
- Pupils call his friend’s nickname. (Red light)

Activity 3:
1. Pupils create a simple action song in groups to show respect to the
school community.
Civic Information Right : Members of school community have their right to give
their views and opinions.

responsible towards their actions.
