Mission Statement
As threats become more agile, deceptive and diverse, our
mandate becomes more focussed on delivering EW
solutions that drastically cut deployment risk, time and cost

2
Multichannel Radar Signal Emulator (MRSE) System Overview

MRSE-1000
• MRSE is software-driven reconfigurable system which allows
users to create scenarios and model any number/type of
emitters, targets, environmental effects and one receiver.

• MRSE can be used to create dense and complex EM

environment for stimulating various types of EW receiver
systems.

• Scenarios are pre-computed and stored as baseband I/Q MRSE-5000

data. Selected scenarios are upconverted to IR/RF for over
the air transmission or direct injection.

3
I/Q Data Streaming from SSD

Baseband waveform (I/Q) data corresponding to a signal

Tunable RF for IF scenario to be generated can be pre-computed and stored in the
IF To RF LO to RF conversion RAID server’s hard drives. During operation I/Q data is
IF streamed via 10 Gigabit networks to one of D-TA’s tunable
transmit solutions for generating the RF scenario.

Architecture

• There are 3 main components to the MRSE System:

• MRSE Scenario and Waveform Generator
• Multi-core RAID Server
• Sensor Interface & Processor

• MRSE supports simultaneous receive/transmit functions for

mission recording and later playback.

• Software-based engine allows simultaneous record/playback

from hard drives to support hardware-in-the-loop (HWIL).

• Channels can be factory configured as inputs or outputs in

any combination.

• Channels can be phase-coherently (for AoA simulations,

pulse-on-pulse) or independently (increase spectrum
coverage) tuned.
