C. Description of the Project

“May Pera sa Basura” is a program initiated by Manggahan Elementary School. It

aims to lessen the garbage in the community and to raise fund to be used by
school.

D. Duration of the Project

September to December, 2017

E. Location

Manggahan Elementary School

F. Targets

1. Awareness of the community the value of waste segregation.

2.Garner income to be used in enhancing the front of the school.

II. Rationale

A. Brief Introduction

Now that dengue is one of the causes in increasing of death in the Philippines and
major cause of this is the non-biodegradable materials that dispose carelessly because
they become the breeding place of some mosquitoes. And now that burning of garbage is
strictly prohibited.

“May Pera sa Basura” is the best remedy to lessen the burning of garbage and to
reduce cans and plastics that are dwelling place of mosquitoes.

B. Logical Basis for a Course of Action

C. Objectives
1. Advocate the regular waste segregation
2. Promulgate the benefits of recycling
3. Ensure the awareness of pupils on the importance of income generating
project
III. Scheme of Implementation

A. Management Aspect

Teacher Advisers are in charge of monitoring their parents in gathering

their non-biodegradable that can be sold.

B. Manpower Requirements

Parents of the grade level are requested to help their contestants in

collecting garbage.

C. Technical Aspects

We actually asked the junkshops the price of the different materials. We

also asked to which materials cannot be sold.

D. Marketing Strategies

We schedule the visit of the buyer.

E. Sustainability Plan

We ask the pupils to continue the activity for their own benefit.

IV. Proposed Budget/Project Cost

A. Cost and Return Analysis

Since we did not have the capital needed, we had a good income.

B. Return of Investment

After three months of collecting garbage, we are able to raise Php 4, 500.00.

V. Results, Recommendations and conclusions

Using “May Pera sa Basura” we are able to enhance part of our school fence.

This program is a pleasant step to promote the importance of waste segregation
