1. LUNGES – Go easy on the knees with this lunge. Stand with feet hip-width apart,
engage core, and take a big step backward. Engage glutes as you bend front knee to lower
body so back knee lightly taps floor while keeping upper body upright. Drive front heel
into floor to return to starting position.
2. ARM CIRCLE – Stand up and extend your arms straight out by the sides.
The arms should be parallel to the floor and perpendicular (90-degree angle) to your
torso. This will be your starting position. Slowly start to make circles of about 1 foot in
diameter with each outstretched arm.
3. FRONT LEG SWINGS – Stand straight with your feet hip-width apart and
hold onto a wall. Keeping one leg stationary, slowly swing the opposite leg
forward and backward in a single smooth movement. Switch sides and repeat
until set is complete.
4. JUMPING JACKS – Stand upright with your legs together, arms at your sides. Bend your
knees slightly, and jump into the air. As you jump, spread your legs to be about shoulder-
width apart. Stretch your arms out and over your head. Jump back to starting position.
Repeat
5. HIGH KNEES – Start standing with feet hip-distance apart. Lift up right knee as
high as it will go and raise the opposite arm, then switch quickly so left knee is up
before right foot lands. Continue pulling knees up quirky for as long as desired.

DODGEBALL
HISTORY
There is a lot of evidence that a game similar to dodgeball was played in Africa more
than 200 years ago. It wasn’t a fun, or even entertaining game. As a matter of fact, it was
played with rocks instead of rubber balls, and was used to develop the strength and
endurance of warriors. They would literally throw rocks at each other with the intention
of incapacitating them. Some scholars think it went even further than that, and that it was
a game played to the death. Yikes!
Other scholars believe the game originated in Asia, Greece, or Mesoamerica as early as
500 BC.
Mechanics
SEC. 5 Off-Sides
The center line is the off-sides line. If any part of your foot or body touches the center
line, you will be declared out and thrown ball will be dead.
