Islam and universal brotherhood

religion that teaches to stand for everyone

taking care of neighbours and feed the needyone
religion that does not differentiate between poor and rich
religion that uplifted the women in ditch
tolerance love faith and liberty
islam alone stands for unity .
today I stand before you
to speak on islam and u brotherhood
to lighten my topic with reference and truth
.as said by beloved prophet ......................may peace and blessings b upon him ’varily the best of the people to
allah are those who begin the greetings of peace ,written in sunan abu daud 5197.so honorable chief guest
judges teachers and wonderful gathering of intellectuals assalamoalekum warehmatullahe wabara katohu. My
name is m abdus suboor rahmani from sunway sr sec school rampur .

caring for others before you ,treating everyone equal despite caste and creed ,respecting religious beliefs of
people, celebrating together the unity in diversity ,loving peace and hating hatred is what that helps in
establishing peace and brotherhood in society and i feel immense honor when i find Islam preaching and
practicing these values which are deeply imbibed in Islam. Islam in itself commands for peace ,purity ,and to
prove this fact the word muslim has come only 42 times in Quran while the word o mankind has come 240
times. This clearly shows that welfare of whole mankind is one of the principal concerns of the Islam
well there are so many question that arise in mind when we link islam to universal brotherhood .what makes islam
still flourish with about 1.8 billion people in the world ,what is special about the followers of islam who are
called muslims and what are its basic building blocks because of which islam still stands firmly from seventh
century till now .what are its teachings which links it with universal brotherhood .

to begin with islam ,it believes in one god ,the creator who is callled merciful,the ultimate provider of peace ,the
preserver who sent the book like quran which is a miraculous revelations of him which talk about peace and
brotherhood,about how to lead a peacefull life ,and treat the whole human race as one community .islam is a
religion which has send down one lakh twenty four thousand messengers at different point of time with the
purpose of spreading peace in the world of which the last is prophet mohammad sallalaho walehe wasallam.
who is the prophet for the whole human race not just for muslims . whose teachings has turned enemies into
friends ,hatred into love, injustice into justice .who voiced for the poors and gave equal treatment to the
downtrodden. Anas ibne malik reported;the messenger of allah ,peace and blessings be upon him said ;none
of you has faith until he loves for his brother what he loves for himself (sahi albukhari 13 grade muttafaqqun
alayhi).and this brother word is not mention only for muslims but people of all religion.this is islam which
teaches and preaches brotherhood.
I hope all of u know the five basic pillars of islam namely shahada namaz roza zakat haj ,for instance slah what we
cal it namaz if performed in jamaat we get a reward of 27 times more than it performed alone,zakat nails down the
rich and take care of the poor ,fsting insures unity in time ,haj ensure sunity in time in place ,brotherhood has
always been one f the greatest achievements of islam since the very first day and continues to be one of its greatest
goals.
Abu hurera reported in sahi muslim chapter no 54 that a messenger of allah said you can not enter paradise untill
you believe and you will not believe unless you love each other .feel the depth of the hadith .the highest honor
of entering jannah will be refrain from you if you do Not love each other ...love to all human race .
I would quote from (quran,al hujurat 49;13 )o mankind ,we created you from a single pair of a male and a female
and made you into nations and tribes ,that you may know each other .verily the most of you in the sight of god
is who is the most righteous of you .
God in this ayat addresses mankind not only muslims ,hence Quran talks about universal religion of humanity ,All
have gone through the same mechanism of creation .This ayat brings to light that that there is no words like
false pride, tribalism ,nationalism ,colonialism and racism .Here ASW HAS given importance to Taqwa
,individual piety is the only thing that makes a person better and greater than the other one .
Prophet mohammad in his last sermon conveyed the message of universal brotherhood, ‘’o people ,remember that
your lord is one ..an Arab has no superiority over a non Arab nor a non Arab has any superiority over an arab
.Indeed the best among you is the one with the best character (taqwq).listen to me did I convey this to you
properly .people responded yes, o messenger of god .The prophet then said that each one of you who is there
must convey this to everyone not present .
The most important point of emphasis is when prophet talked about unity and to pass on
the message of this universal brotherhood to the people who were not present there that
means this message has been passed on from generations, now we hold this responsibility
for giving it to our generations and the coming ones....................
Islaam promotes universal brotherhood because it invites humanity to unite and come
together under the principal of love and affection , equality ,tolerance and dialogue,it
doesnt divide us into pieces instead helps in spreading peace and brotherhood .

Insaniyat , bhai chare ki baat

Quran he jiski kitab
Islam he jiska mazhab
Huzur ki hidayaat
Jiske naam se shuru hr ayaaat
Shukr he me us allah ka bnda hu.
