In positive sentence, infinitive is used for the subject I, you, we, and they, and infinitive + s/es is used for the
subject he, she, and it. In negative sentence, do not (don’t) + infinitive is used for the subject I, you, we, and
they, and does not (doesn’t) + infinitive is used for the subject he, she, and it. In interrogative sentence, put
Do before I, you, we, and they followed by infinitive, and put Does before he, she, and it followed by infinitive.
Adverb of time and adverb of frequency used as follows: every day, every week, every month, every Sunday,
every morning, once a week, twice a day, three times a day, four times a month, etc.
Example:
(+) I eat bread every morning. ( - ) I don’t eat rice every morning.
Brandon speaks English every day. He doesn’t speak Chinese every day.
Does she have twenty balls? Yes, she does. / No, she doesn’t.
In positive sentence, past verb is used for all subjects. In negative sentence, did not (didn’t) + infinitive is
used for all subjects. In interrogative sentence, put Did before all subjects followed by infinitive.
Adverb of time and adverb of frequency used as follows: yesterday, yesterday morning, last week, last month,
last night, last Sunday, two days ago, six months ago, etc.
Example:
(+) I ate bread yesterday morning. ( - ) I didn’t eat rice yesterday morning.
(?) Did you eat bread yesterday morning? Yes, I did. / No, I didn’t.
Did you eat bread yesterday morning? Yes, we did. / No, we didn’t.
Did we sleep last night? Yes, you did. / No, you didn’t.
Did she have twenty balls? Yes, she did. / No, she didn’t.
