DuPagePads shares about homelessness following a

viewing of The Public
As a part of the Downers Grove Library "There's No Place That's
Home" month of homelessness awareness

The Downers Grove Public Library

Foundation is funding a series of
homelessness awareness events in October.
On October 2nd DuPage Pads participated in
a free screening of The Public at the Tivoli
Theatre. Written, directed and starring
Emilio Estevez, The Public tells the tale of a n act of civil
disobedience turned a standoff with police when homeless people in
Cincinnati take over the public library to seek shelter from the
bitter cold.
A Q&A with DuPage Pads CEO Carol Simler and Vice President of
Programs Scott Austgen along with Downers Grove Library Director
Julie Milavec directly followed the screening.

means our need for volunteers increases as well, and your help

more individuals and families experiencing homelessness can access
Interim Housing for dinner, breakfast, and a safe place to sleep.
