suicide bombing, a tactic used last weekend in the southern province of
Sulu. Suicide terrorism in the Philippines traces its roots to the Tausug
of Mindanao who used the attack to fend of Spanish and American
colonizers.

Reporter 2: Mindanao is troubled by banditry and armed rebellions that keep large
parts of the region mired in poverty and instability. President Rodrigo
Duterte has bowed out to wipe out Abu Sayyaf and has intensified militant
operations in its strongholds, though bombings targeting civilian and

Reporter1: Tropical Depression Marilyn began to pull the southwest monsoon or
hanging habagat on Thursday evening, September 12, 2019, according to
the state weather bureau.

Reporter2: In a briefing past 5pm on Thursday, Sept. 12. The PAGASA said Marilyn is
already 1,260 kilometer, east northeast of Casiguran, Aurora, on 1255 km east
in Aparri, Cagayan. Friday, September 13, 2019, moderate to intermittent
heavy rain in different part of the Philippines, Aurora, Palawan, Western
Visayas, Zambaonga Peninsula. While Tropical Depression Marilyn is
weaker, the southwest monsoon will still trigger rain in parts of the
Philippines on Saturday, September 14. PAGASA said Marilyn now has
maximum winds of 45 kilometers per hour (km/h) from the previous 55 km/h
and gustiness of up to 55 km/h from the previous 70 km/h. Occasional to
frequent light to moderate rain, with intermittent heavy rain in Palawan,
Occidental Mindoro, Oriental Mindoro, Western Visayas, Zamboanga
Peninsula, Sulu Archipelago.
