3CPR Program Overview

2
3CPR Program Overview

To manage Supplier-responsible product nonconformance

issues.
• This process is applied to prevent additional
nonconforming product from reaching the FCA
manufacturing facility.
• 3CPR utilizes a single sourced Third Party Service
Provider who will conduct containment and sorting of
Supplier product.

3
3CPR Program Overview

3CPR covers sorting and containment of nonconforming product at FCA

US (NAFTA) plants, sequencers (ILC’s), modular facilities, Mopar
distribution centers and supplier locations.
• Supplier is financially responsible for the sort
• Includes all Supplier Requested (Proactive) sorting and
containment
• Includes NAFTA supplier parts going to other regions of the world
(IRF – Inter-Regional Flow: Italy, Brazil, China, etc.)
• Does not include Engineering (IAA) Rework, Yard Hold/Audits and
Sub-Surface Porosity
• Approved Engineering (IAA) rework may be done before a 3CPR,
but a 3CPR must be performed after any Engineering (IAA) rework
is completed
• Non-Engineering (IAA) rework (reworking a part to bring it back into
print specification) is within 3CPR’s scope
4
3CPR Program Overview

• All projects are managed through the automated web based

application located at www.esupplierconnect.com and follow the
published 3CPR Policies.
• You must ask your internal esupplierconnect administrator for access
to the 3CPR application.

3CPR Program Overview

7
3CPR Program Overview

3CPR Provider sorts FCA inventory (pipeline), Supplier sorts at supplier

plant
• Provider sorts all parts past Supplier’s dock and 100% of Supplier’s
clean Certified Shipment
• Supplier sorts all parts to all plants before shipping until Provider finds a
clean Certified Shipment

8
3CPR Program Overview

3CPR Provider sorts at Supplier’s plant (L2 includes L1 unless L1 is

waived)
• Provider sorts all parts past supplier’s dock and all parts to all plants
prior to shipment for 15 to 999 days from supplier’s Permanent
Corrective Action (PCA) implementation date
• Exit clock resets if nonconforming part is found after PCA

9
3CPR Program Overview

External Engineering support

• Also known as CSL3 in EMEA
• Scope of project and corrective actions to be determined by SQ
management, SQE, Supplier, and 3rd party engineer
• Length of project dependent upon the corrective actions required
• Level 2 sorting may or may not be included or necessary
• Will be included in 3CPR system (implementation date TBD)

10
3CPR Program Overview

• A Supplier requested sort that will be created in the 3CPR system that
is neither mandated by the plant nor punitive against the Supplier’s
quality scorecard.
• These projects must follow the 3CPR process lifecycle, with the same
steps and same requirements as an FCA initiated 3CPR.

11
3CPR Program Overview

• Common Part 3CPR projects refer to Supplier parts that affect multiple
FCA Plants
• Each affected FCA plant will have a L1 sort initiated when the 3CPR
system reports that a Supplier part non-conformance affects more than
one FCA plant.
• Only the initial 3CPR project will affect the supplier scorecard. All
subsequent Common Part 3CPR projects will not affect the supplier
scorecard.

12
3CPR Program Overview

3CPR projects do impact a Supplier’s External Balanced Scorecard

(EBSC) Quality score.

• A 5 point deduction is taken for each Level 1 project initiated

• A 10 point deduction is taken for each Level 2 project initiated

• A 10 point deduction will be taken for each Level 3 project initiated

• Deductions remain on the scorecard for 6 months

• Exceptions: Supplier Requested and Common Part projects

13
3CPR Program Overview

• Sampling or “Lot Sorting” is the activity of not sorting all material or a

family of part numbers in the pipeline.
• The 3CPR Provider is to sort 100% of all inventories in the pipeline
back to the Supplier plant.
• Sampling or "lot" sorting is prohibited.

14
3CPR Program Overview

15
3CPR Program Overview

The Supplier must support 3CPR activity within 24 hours

of project initiation with both:
1. Input of a valid PO # in the 3CPR Details page, and
2. Provide to the 3CPR Provider an electronic copy of the
fully funded & signed PO with a minimum value of
$5000 (US & CDN), $2000 USD (MEX, LATAM &
APAC), or €5000 (EMEA).

16
3CPR Program Overview

If a Supplier fails to provide a PO to the 3CPR Provider within 24 hours of

project initiation, the Supplier is subject to the following:

• Loss of clean point at the FCA plant

• Loss of Supplier certified shipment status and date (if already sorted)
• Loss of L2 Kick Off Meeting Information
• Loss of inspection team arrival
• Loss of Permanent Corrective Action 7-step implementation date (if input)
• Loss of exit clock count down
After 24 hours, the Supplier will be locked out of the 3CPR project and
sorting will stop, leaving the FCA plant unprotected.
To reopen the project, the Supplier must provide a copy of the PO to the
3CPR Provider. The Provider will enter the PO into the system, unlock the
project and resume sorting.

Project Notification Email

18
3CPR Process for Level 1 & Level 2

19
3CPR Level 1 Process

20
3CPR Level 1 Process

• The 3CPR L1 scope shall cover all safely accessible products beyond
the responsible Supplier of record manufacturing facility.
• This includes but is not limited to ILC’s, Sub-assembly Suppliers who
have consigned FCA product, Sequence and Kit Service Facilities,
Modular Suppliers, and other similar facilities.
• All facilities where FCA product may reside are subject to the same
requirements and expectations as included in the 3CPR Policies.
• These types of facilities may be listed in a project as an ILC or Modular
for purpose of identifying the affected pipeline for a given 3CPR
activity.

21
3CPR Level 1 Process

• The Supplier’s first Certified Shipment MUST be 100% sorted by the

3CPR-P and must be found 100% clean.
• If the Certified Shipment is not clean, the Provider will notify FCA and
the Supplier of the Dirty Certified Shipment.
• The project will be escalated to a 3CPR Level 2 and the Provider will
continue to sort incoming shipments until the Provider’s L2 certified
material is received at the FCA plant.

22
3CPR Level 1 Process

23
3CPR Level 1 Process

24
3CPR Level 2 Process

25
3CPR Level 2 Process

• Containment cannot be broken once the 3CPR Provider has certified

product for shipment. This includes repackaging/resorting/reworking
certified material.
• If a Supplier needs to break containment, the material must be
recertified in ready to ship condition by the 3CPR Provider. If sorting of
ready to ship material is not possible, then the Provider, Supplier and
FCA SQ Project Initiator shall agree to an upstream inspection point
and upstream criteria to be inspected which allows the shipment to
remain certified.
• The 3CPR Provider is required to observe all packaging processes to
preserve 3CPR containment certifications. This requires a Provider
inspector to be on the Supplier shipping dock when 3CPR material is
being shipped.

26
3CPR Level 2 Process

• The PCA is the action determined to be the best of all alternatives in

addressing and permanently eliminating the root cause.

• The PCA shall be approved by FCA Supplier Quality prior to

implementation.

• Once approval is achieved, the PCA implementation date is required to

be entered into the 3CPR application.

• The implementation date activates the 3CPR Level 2 project exit clock.

• If a nonconforming part is identified after PCA implementation, the

project exit clock will reset and the countdown will restart.

27
3CPR Level 2 Process

The Kick-Off Meeting and Inspection Team fields are completed by the 3CPR-P.
