We have studied how individuals, groups and structures impact on our behavior within organizations.

On an ordinary day, the richest and the poorest man have exactly the same amount of time but how
efficiently they utilize their times differ.

All of us have a negative as well as a positive aspect. It is the opportunity or lack of opportunity that
decides which aspect dominates. Our behavior is influenced by several things around us which can be
divided into three levels; individual, group and organizational levels.

If we only live on a physiological method, there won’t be any difference between a man and an animal.
Thinking is what sets us apart.

Our attitudes drive our behavior and often, our behavior starts driving attitudes. Attitudes are
evaluative statements, favorable or unfavorable. They are complex and have 3 components; Cognitive,
Affective and Behavioral. It is a chain. You first evaluate the

Job attitudes come an individual’s experiences, the repercussions, the nature of the job and if the
individual is passionate about it or not. A positive attitude would lead to growth, recognition and job
satisfaction which further motivates the individual to do better. Each company has its personality and so
does each individual. Job dissatisfaction occurs when these two differ.

Also learnt the importance of attitude of gratitude. It is important to appreciate the things around you.
You should not have to lose something in order to realize its true value. There will always be someone
who will be better than you. You can only be happy once you stop comparing yourself with others
continuously. At the end of the day all that matters is self-satisfaction.

I also learn that moods and emotions are not the same. Moods are of brief durations and caused due to
a specific event whereas emotions tend to last longer as their cause is general and often unclear.

Furthermore, it was interesting to learn that some people are naturally predisposed to be happy and
some are naturally predisposed to be unhappy. What helps to improve these moods is good sleep,
exercise, healthy food and lifestyle. Moreover age, weather and stress can also affect moods.

You are the painter of your own mood. Your day is only as grey as you allow it to be. By doing the
personality test, I learnt a little more about my personality; how I can turn my strengths into
opportunities and how I can identify my weaknesses to avoid any threats. I was forced to think about
what makes me me, and what I think about myself in my subconscious. Made me learn how my
experiences and believes have shaped me into who I am today.

Our attitudes, emotions and moods have a very high impact on our daily lives. The affect our job
performance, decision making skills, creativity, motivation and satisfaction etc.

All of this knowledge is very valuable as it will help us in practical life when we get exposed to the
corporate world. It will help us in improving our personal and organizational effectiveness.
