General description and Arrangement:
General:
This specification together with general arrangement plan describes a Tug / Service Vessel type
UT 728 S which is designed for satisfying the general demands of the offshore industry.
The vessel is special designed and equipped for general towing, with special focus on towing,
pull back and tanker offloading support.

Arrangement:
 The ship to be arranged as a single decker. Machinery to be arranged midship and all
accommodation forward.
 Further, two propellers in fixed nozzles, one side thruster and one retractable azimuth
thruster forward, one side thruster aft and two flap rudders to be arranged. Space to be
arranged for optional side thruster aft.
 Main cargo deck to be arranged free from obstructions. The main engine installation is
based upon gas oil.
 2 passive stabilizing tanks to be built below main deck.
 The ship to be arranged with accommodation for 20 persons (16 crew and 4 clients). In
addition hospital, offices, dayrooms, mess, galley, provision store, etc. according to this
specification.

BRIEF DESCRIPTION – CARGO SYSTEMS
Domestic transfer/ballasting pumps:
Discharge pumps to be installed as follows:

One off Freshwater discharge pump, 100 m3/h.


One off Ballast/drillwater pump, 150 m3/h.
Two off Fuel oil transfer pumps, 20 m3/h

Fuel, Freshwater and WB/DW system to be operated and monitored from the ACON system.
Flow meter to be installed in fuel oil and FW filling line.

 One off Service crane of knuckle boom type, 1,6t/16 m outreach

 One off Tugger winches, 11 tons

 One off 280 tons polyester rope drum, wire cap. 1200 m of 136 mm polyester rope.
 Two off Capstans winches aft, each 10 tons.
 One off Stern roller of approx. 3 000 mm length and approx. 3000 mm dia. dimensioned for
min. 400 tons
 One off Hydraulic towing pin units (two pins).
 One off Retractable Anchor handling Tong units. 400 tons SWL.

Anti Rolling Tanks:


 Two off RRM Rollreduction tanks of UT type, arranged. aft below main deck. WB to be used as
liquid in the tanks.

 Tunnel Thrusters:
 One Rolls-Royce TT 2000 DPN CP, 736 kW, forward.

 One Rolls-Royce TT 1650 DPN CP, 590 kW, aft.

 Swing Up Azimuth Thrusters:


 One Rolls-Royce TCNS 73/50 CP, 736 kW, forward.

 Engine installations:
 Two Bergen Diesel engines, type B32:40V12P CD, each 6000 kW, 750 rpm.

 Two Shaft Generators, each 2400 kW/1800 rpm, 440V/60Hz

 Two Aux. gen. sets, 400 kW generator, 440V/60 Hz.

 One Emergency generator, 100 kW, 440V/60Hz

ELECTRICAL SYSTEMS:

The ship shall have alternating current system, 3 phase, 60Hz, according to DIN and / or
IEC
norms. The systems to be insulated against hull throughout the vessel, except grounding
detecting circuits, necessary circuits of electronic equipment, etc.

440V and 230V systems to have earth failure instrument with alarm output to ACON.
24V DC systems to have earth failure relay with indication lamp or alarm output.

440 V AC:
 Shaft generators, Aux. generators, Emergency generator, Transformers

230 V AC:
