Ambassador Series NSW Handbook 985010 C

Ainsworth Game Technology Limited 8
Chapter 2: General — Physical Description

Bill Validator Assembly

The Bill Validator Assembly incorporates the Bill Validator and Bill Stacker. The Bill
Validator Assembly is accessed through the Bill Validator Door Assembly. The Bill
Validator Assembly, once unlocked, pivots at its base to allow removal of the Bill
Stacker by gaining access through the Bill Validator Door Assembly.
A microswitch situated on the underside of the Bill Validator Locking Arm senses when
the Bill Validator is unlocked for servicing of the Bill Stacker

Bill Validator
The Bill Validator receives notes that are entered through the Bill Validator Door
Assembly and accepts or rejects notes based on the note validity. If the Bill Validator
rejects a note, the note returns to the player through the Bill Validator Door Assembly.
If the Bill Validator accepts the note, it is guided into the Bill Stacker for storage. The
Bill Validator can be separated on a pivot to provide access to clear minor note jam
clearances.

The Bill Validator incorporates an illuminated bezel which indicates to the player
whether the Bill Validator can accept notes and of which denominations. The
illuminated bezel incorporates four rows of LEDs which when operating normally
illuminate sequentially, indicating that notes may be entered into the machine. Constant
illumination of a single row of LEDs indicates that there is a fault associated with the
validator (refer to the Bill Validator Bezel Error Display list in Chapter 5).

Bill Stacker
The Bill Stacker provides a secure facility for storing notes (up to 500) accepted by the
Bill Validator for retrieval by the operator. The stacker contains a memory device that
records the number and denominations of notes it contains. The stacker comprises a
lock assembly for access to the stored notes once the stacker has been removed from
the machine. The interior of the stacker accommodates a mechanism that retains the
notes under spring tension once they have been inserted. The Bill Stacker connects to
the Bill Validator when the Bill Validator Assembly is in the lowered (normal) position by
the use of a self-aligning connector, which disconnects from the Bill Validator when the
Bill Validator Assembly is rotated to remove the stacker for note retrieval.

Button Panel Assembly

The Button Panel Assembly consists of illuminated push buttons that the player uses to
interact with the EGM. The buttons also allow the operator and service technician to
carry out testing and audit functions on the machine. The buttons can be replaced
individually, or the buttons may be relamped or have microswitches replaced without
the need to remove the entire button.

Cashbox Chute Assembly

The Cashbox Chute Assembly is a welded metal assembly that guides coins from the
Coin Chute Assembly to the Coin box.

OPERATING MODES

Introduction
This chapter provides information relating to the various operating modes of the
machine and is divided into Play Mode and Operator Modes (incorporating Audit Mode,
Configuration Modes and Test Modes).

Play Mode
The machine can be deemed to be in Play Mode when the machine is turned on (and
initialisation has taken place), the Control Panel Assembly is closed and locked and no
active lockup conditions exist.
Indications that the game is available for play are the illumination of the lamps in the
buttons on the Button Panel Assembly to attract player attention. Other visual
indications are include “PLAY NOW” being displayed in the Status Display and the
absence of the Message Panel display (which would obscure the game reels).

Game Rules
The Game Rules are contained on the “RESERVED” screen, which can be viewed at
any time when game play is not taking place and no active lockup condition exists with
the machine. To view the Game Rules access the “RESERVED” screen by pressing
the RESERVED button.

General
Upon turning on the machine, the machine will momentarily display an Initialisation
screen. A Machine Configuration page will then be displayed. This screen requires the
operator to set and save certain parameters. This screen contains all the information
relating to the identification and configuration of the machine.
A Credit Reset lock assembly on the side of the machine allows the operator to cancel
credits in the event that credits are redeemed that either exceed a predetermined limit
or is in excess of the Coin Hopper quantity. The lock also enables the operator to enter
the Audit Mode, which provides all necessary information for tracking financial and
statistical information. The Audit mode switch selection is also used to reset minor
faults with the machine and alarms.
