A brief History
Al-Amien Prenduan Institute for Islamic Studies which is known as Institut Dirosat
Islamiyah Al-Amien Prenduan (IDIA) is a tertiary institution within Al-Amien Prenduan Islamic
Boarding School, Sumenep, East Java. The history of its establishment began with the desire of the
chief of Al-Amien Prenduan in 1980 to establish a higher boarding school as a continuation of the
educational process of Tarbiyatul Mu'allimien Al-Islamiyah (TMI). In 1983 Pesantren Tinggi Ilmu
Kemasyarakatan (PTIK), or Islamic College for Social Sciences, was established. In a few months
later, it waas changed to Pesantren Tinggi Al-Amien (PTA), or Islamic College of Al-Amien which
was inaugurated by the Minister of Religion of the Republic of Indonesia, H. Munawwir Syadzali,
MA. on September 11, 1983 (Dhul Hijjah 04, 1403 H).
In 1985 PTA was changed to Al-Amien Prenduan Higher School for Dakwah Sciences, or
Sekolah Tinggi Ilmu Dakwah Al-Amien (STIDA). STIDA graduated 43 students for achiveing their
bachelor degree on its first graduation by January 29 1992 (Rajab 25, 1412 H). STIDA was changed
to the Islamic Higher School of Al-Amien Prenduan, or Sekolah tinggi Al-Amien Prenduan (STAI)
on May 16, 1996, by opening two study programs / majors: Islamic Guidance and Counseling (BPI),
and Islamic Education (PAI). In 2002 the General Director of Islamic Guidance of the Indonesian
Ministry of Religion issued the decree number: Dj.II/ 144/2002 concerning with the change of status
from the Islamic Higher Shool of Al-Amien Prenduan (STAI) to Al-Amien Prenduan Institute for
Islamic Studies (IDIA).

degree in Social sciences (S. Sos.) This study program is accredited B
based on the decree number of BAN-PT No. 3085 / SK / BANPT /
Akred / S / XI / 2018 on November 14, 2018 CE.
Faculty of Tarbiyah
Islamic Education Study Program (PAI); has a graduate
profile as a Teacher in Islamic field, a Research Assistant, and an
Edupreneur with a Bachelor of Education degree (S.Pd). This study
program is accredited B based on the decree number of BAN-PT No.
1264 / SK / BANPT / Akred / S / IV / 2019 on April 30, 2019 CE.
Arabic Language Education Study Program (PBA); has a
graduate profile as an Arabic Language Teacher, an Arabic Language
Researcher, oral-written Arabic Translator, Arabic Language Tutor,
Hajj / Umrah Tour Gaide and the Middle Eastern tour guide with a
Bachelor of Education degree (S.Pd.) This study program is
accredited B based on the decree number of BAN-PT No. 089 / SK /
BANPT / Akred / S / III / 2015 on March 14, 2015 CE.
Faculty of Usuluddin
Quranic Sciences and its Interpretation Study Program
(IQT); has a graduate profile as Instructor of the Quran and
Interpretation, a Researcher in the Field of Quranic sciences, a Social
Entrepreneur with a Bachelor of Religion degree (S.Ag). This study
program is accredited B based on the decree number of BAN-PT No.
0126 / SK / BANPT / Akred / S / III / 2016 on March 24, 2016 CE.
Aqidah Islamic Philosophy Study Program (AFI); has a
graduate profile as a Writer (in the field of Aqidah), a Researcher in the
Field of Religion and Aqidah, a Consultant / Extension in the Field of
Religion and Aqidah, a Head of Institution / Community Organization,
a Social Entrepreneur with a Bachelor of Religion degree (S.Ag.) This
study program is accredited B based on the decree number of BAN-PT
No. 3096 / SK / BAN-PT / AkPNB / S / XI / 2018 on November 6, 2019

Faculty of Economics and Islamic Business
Sharia Banking Study Program (PBS); has a graduate
profile as an Islamic Banking General Banking, Sharia Supervisory
Board, Social Entrepreneur with a Bachelor of Economics degree
(S.E). This study program carries out its academic activities based on
the permission of organizing study programs based on the Decree of
the Director General of Islamic Education Number: 3183 of 2017.
Excellences of IDIA
IDIA offers students the opportunity to choose one of the 3 (three) program
models as follows:

his program has become the flagship program at IDIA as a model of
lecture by studying Islamic sciences and using Arabic and English
as a formal language at the boarding school student hostel. The
students in this program are directed to explore the treasures of religious,
social, and sciences at the bachelor level which are integrated with the
Total Islamic boarding school program. This program is suitable for senior high
Intensive school (or its equivalent) or Islamic boarding school alumni who are
Program interested in studying Islamic and religious knowledge while earning a
bachelor degree.
This program is intensively fostered directly by the alumni of
Islamic universities and institutions in Indonesia, and abroad, such as
Mecca, Medina, Egypt, Yemen, Malaysia, and Pakistan. Intensive
Program students are required to reside in IDIA's complex dormitory, take
a part in various boarding programs with 24-hour parenting programs to
form an excellence character in spiritual, emotional, and intellectual of
the students. They are aimed at having the qualifications to become
distinguished Islamic scholars.
In addition, students of the Intensive program will get a Certificate
of Companion Certificate (SKPI) as an institutional recognition of their
competencies. SKPI is given after students reach certain qualifications in
the variety of academic and non-academic educational activities that they
participate in, such as the practical teaching and preaching, the sermon and
counseling practicum, the guidance of hafidh students or jam'iyah al-
Qurra 'wa al-Huffadzh (JQH), Imamat Practicum, community learning,
religious and spiritual tours (Rihlah Tazkiyah), and Leadership and
Management Training.

Lecturers Currently IDIA has 80 lecturers, consisting of 65 permanent
lecturers, and 15 temporary lecturers from academics and professionals
in their fields.

Community Service.
O ur lecturers had presented their scientific
research in international forums, such as:
The 6th ICCD (International Conference on
Community Development) 2019, organized by the
AMCA (Association of Muslim Communities in
Asean), at the An-Comolex Bandar Seri Begawan
Brunei Darussalam. Then the International Seminar
on Aqidah Understanding and Current Thoughts,
organized by the University of Ugama College
Begawan Series (KUPU SB), Brunei Darussalam,
(14-15 / 08/2019).
In the field of community service, IDIA uses
the “Asset Based Communities Development
(ABCD)” method. In 2018 the method was
implemented in 14 villages in the Larangan
Pamekasan District.
As a form of protection of intellectual
property rights, LP2M is currently encouraging
lecturers and students to register their works to have
the intellectual rights (HAKI) from the ministry of
Law and Human Rights of Indonesia.
IDIA journals use the Open Journal System (OJS), can be accessed
through http://ejournal.idia.ac.id/, indexed in several national and international
indexers. The following are the names of the journals owned by IDIA:
Dirosat: Journal of Islamic Studies, the focus of the study is on Islamic studies
from various aspects of the study.
Reflectika, the focus of the study is on Islamic studies from various aspects.
Maharot: Journal of Islamic Education, the focus of its study is Islamic
education from various aspects of the study.
Bayan Lin Naas: Journal of Islamic Da'wah and Communication, the focus of
its study is the da'wah, guidance counseling, and Islamic communication from
various aspects of the study.
El-Waroqoh: Journal of Usuluddin and Philosophy, the focus of its study is the
Qur'an, Hadith, Sufism, Islamic Political Philosophy, Living Qur'an and the
Hadith of the Faculty of Usuluddin.
Of the five journals above, the highest indexation obtained today is
DOAJ for Dirosat and Reflectika, and SINTA 3 for Reflectika and SINTA 5 for
Dirosat.
