Celebrations, Connections, & Challenges

by Dr. Lyn Mueller
As I write this, we still have a few tables and some shoppers left for the CFI Yard Sale. All in all, it was a good
day. We had 24 tables set up with “treasures” and shoppers arriving at 7:00 (even though we didn’t officially
open until 7:30). That’s $480 for the Annual Fund plus an additional $30 that we made from beverage sales. The
sale almost doubled in size from last spring. If you missed it, we’ll have another one in the spring and will try to
schedule it soon so you can get it on your calendar. Everyone who participated made money. Most importantly, we
had fun getting together and visiting. We even hosted a few additional friends who bought tables and joined us.
If you came out, thanks for shopping and, if not, be sure to join us next spring.

Now Scheduling Career Speakers for January’s Curriculum Night

Please tell Dr. Mueller or Mrs. Debeaugrine if you are willing to share your career during our Career Night at our
Curriculum Night on Thursday, Jan. 27th.

Did You Know That You Can Pay for School Lunches Online?
To pay online, you can access the NutriKids website from the district’s web page by click-
ing on “Departments” located at the top of the home page, then “Food Services,” then
“Payment Information.” This is an easy way to track you payments. If you haven’t used
NutriKids before, you will need your child’s ID number which you can get from Mrs.
Debeaugrine.

Sending in A Check for School Lunch?

If you are sending a check in for payment, please remember to put your student(s) name at the
bottom in the memo line. This will make it so much easier for Miss Lizzie when she enters the
checks and will ensure that the proper amount gets entered into your child’s account.

Proposed School Attendance Lines

In response to the continued tremendous growth in Richland Two, we are building new schools to
help decrease overcrowding. The construction for these schools is funded by the 2008 bond referendum.
For the 2011-2012 school year, two new schools will open; elementary 18, located on Old National Road, and
middle school seven, located on Muller Road. The opening of these schools will result in some changes to at-
tendance lines at the elementary and middle school levels.
Proposed changes to the attendance lines to accommodate these two new schools will be presented
as information to the Richland Two Board of Trustees on Tuesday, Nov. 9. The Board is tentatively sched-
uled to vote on the lines at its regularly scheduled meeting on Tuesday, Dec. 7. We strongly encourage par-
ents to attend the meeting to learn more about the proposed changes. The proposed lines and a list of all
schools impacted by the proposed changes will be posted Friday, Nov. 5 on the district's website
www.richland2.org. Additionally, maps of the proposed attendance lines will be displayed in all impacted
schools and at the District Office.
The public session of the Nov. 9 board meeting begins at 7 p.m. at Polo Road Elementary School,
1250 Polo Road. The public session of the Dec. 7 board meeting begins at 7 p.m. at the District Auditorium,
7500 Brookfield Road. The public is always welcomed and encouraged to attend board meetings. For a com-
plete list of meetings, visit the Board of Trustees page on the district's website.
