Batch Fixed issue with numeric data entry and number of decimal places in an Operator Hold
phase.

Version 7.2.07 Software Changes and Enhancements

Section Description
Application Fixed issue where custom units were only displayed for Scale 1
Batch Shared Data Variables can now be used within a recipe
Batch New Operator Hold Phase type: Verify Container – prompts operator to place a container
of a certain tare weight and capacity
Batch New Operator Hold Phase type: Verify Material - allows ability to prompt operator to enter
in a material ID or lot ID and verify it matches a preset value before continuing the recipe.
Batch Global Tolerance setting – allows the user to set a global low and high tolerance as a
percentage of the target weight of a material transfer.
Batch Re-scale by material – allows user to re-scale a batch size based on a single material
amount.
Batch Adjust off tolerance – if a feed ends over tolerance, the operator will be able to adjust the
feed to bring it within the specified tolerance range before proceeding with the rest of the
recipe
Batch Operator Hold Selection – updated to provide a larger buffer to store additional selection
criteria
Batch Additional fields on Order page – added 3 fields on the order page to allow a user to
include any custom text they would like to have printed out as part of the batch summary
report.
Batch Horizontal/Vertical campaign selection – the selection of whether a recipe will execute in a
horizontal or vertical mode is now made in the recipe instead of in the order.
Batch Permanent order option at the terminal – It is now possible to make an order permanent at
the batch terminal, meaning that the order will remain in the terminal until an operator
deletes it.
Batch Math Phase – allows the ability to perform a mathematical or logical operation within a
recipe. Numeric operations include add, subtract, multiply, & divide. Logical operations
include, AND, NOT, & OR.
Batch Abort batch or abort feed – during a recipe if an operator presses the abort soft key during
a material transfer, they will be given the choice of either aborting the whole batch, or
aborting the feed and continuing with the rest of the batch.
Batch Auxiliary Phase update – When an Aux phase is executing within the recipe, the operator
will now see a countdown timer to display how much time is left for that Aux phase.
Batch Added pre-weigh feed algorithm – To complement the other hand add feed algorithms, we
have included a pre-weigh feed algorithm which is useful for materials that already have a
known weight and do not require to be weighed as part of a recipe step.

system’s diagnostic data.

Software Corrections for Issues in Version 6.1.01 - Basic Functionality

Section Description
Application Leaving the Spill or Fine Feed value field blank in the Active Target Edit Screen would
cause an unexpected Setup.exe error. This issue is now corrected.
Application The discrete output on the Analog Load Cell interface option board does not perform as
expected in the following condition; if the output is ON then going into setup mode
thereafter will turn the output OFF as expected. However after exiting setup, the output will
be turned ON again (if the weight is still below the target value) without having to trigger
the start target command. This is now corrected to require a start target command to
restart the feed after exiting setup each time.
Application The discrete output on the Analog Load Cell interface option board does not perform as
expected in the following condition; if the target output is in a run or pause state prior to
powering down the terminal, upon power up, restarting the target feed is not possible
without aborting the feed first. This issue is now corrected to allow restarting the feed
without first aborting the feed.
Application When using the Discrete I/O board (solid state and dry contact version) with firmware
version A172504R.1, any outputs which are ON will be turned OFF as long as any one of
the inputs are triggered very quickly and repeatedly within 1 second. This issue is now
corrected to make the outputs independent of the inputs’ state.
Communication All types of continuous output data (standard, extended, template, multi 1 and multi 2)
stopped updating once the weight data is unavailable anymore (ie. weight display goes to
dashes due to scale error). The firmware has been changed to allow the continuous data
to continue updating the weight status information with the invalid or out of range bit set.
Communication It was not possible to upload the standard database tables A0 – A9 to the terminal’s
memory via FTP if the S1 metrology switch is turned on even with an administrator access
level. This issue is now corrected to allow the FTP access level of a supervisor or higher
to upload the A0 – A9 tables.
Communication When adding an ENet connection in Setup > Communication > Connections without
selecting a trigger would cause the setup screen to error and not allow further selection of
any parameters. This issue is now corrected.

IND780 Revision History

General An abnormal "Flash File Error" at power-up could occur if the checksum of the data being
written into a BRAM or Flash memory shared data is 1 or 2 when an abrupt power loss
occurs during the write.
General The terminal will restart unexpectedly due to a watchdog timeout, if a very large number of
transaction records are returned after an Alibi search process. This issue is now corrected.
Maintenance It was possible to enable Run Flat even if the S1 metrology switch is turned on. This is
now changed so that Shared data variable CM--30 (Enable Run Flat) has an administrator
access level and Run Flat will be disabled in a W&M approved application.
Scale The Power Up = Reset setting in the AZM and Display setup was not working correctly to
restore the zero calibration point after a power cycle. This issue is now corrected.
Scale The IND780 may error on the SICS Scale communication when connected to an
Excellence balance or X-base if the scale supports the M34 SICS command. The M34
command is used primarily by the WM/ WMH SICS scale as a different function that would
have to be treated differently than on the Excellence balance and X-base. This issue is
now corrected.
Scale The IND780 experiences a SICS Logical Command error and/ or a Calibration error when
interfaced to a XP Mass Comparator balance (eg. XP-155Ks). This issue is now corrected.

Version 6.1.01 Software Changes and Enhancements - Basic Functionality

Section Description
Application If the ID for the comparator is known, it is now possible to directly access a particular
comparator’s limits from the Home screen by pressing the ID number first and then
followed by the Comparator softkey.
Application The target table now allows a target value to be stored using the defined custom
secondary units. The custom secondary units must first be configured for the scale.
Application The Alibi records are now subjected to a checksum validation to qualify good records from
corrupted records. Only uncorrupted records will be available to the search view and print
operations on the terminal.
Communication The serial ports’ ASCII Character Set is expanded to support CP 1251 for Cyrillic
characters. This setting allows printing of Russian specific characters and symbols.
Communication DHCP setting is supported on the Ethernet/IP PLC interface option. It is recommended to
use an Ethernet/IP interface with the firmware version 1.35.
Communication The PLC interfaces that support Integer and Floating Point data modes allow the PLC
program to trigger the display of messages stored in the message table (aw0101-
aw0105) or initiate the start of an ID /prompt sequence.
Communication The Continuous-Extended Output communication mode has been enhanced to support
error codes in cases where the Data Invalid bit in status byte 3 is set to 1.
Communication On the Output Template screen a new setting called Repeat Print Field has been added.
This setting selects whether the text “DUPLICATE” is printed as a header, footer or not on
a repeat printout.
Communication CTPZ Input is now supported on the EPrint port over Ethernet.
Communication SICS level 1, 2 and 3 commands such as D, SX, SXI, SXIR, R, U, AR, AW, DY and P are
now supported.
Communication AB-RIO node address setting can now be specified as a decimal or octal value.

General A Watchdog Timer functionality is now available on the terminal to help monitor its
performance. If the terminal’s functions fail to respond correctly, the watchdog timer will
timeout and the entire terminal will automatically reboot.
Maintenance For a Restore from USB operation, there is now a selection to restore system
configuration with or without calibration parameters.
Scale It is possible to configure the number of cells = 1 for a POWERCELL type scales. However
functions like shift adjust and predictive maintenance is not accessible.
Scale Rate now supports oz, dwt, ozt and custom weight units. Custom units for rate are only
available if the scale has custom secondary units configured.
Scale CalFREE now provides a selection for either an Estimated Zero with Preload or a
Calibrated Zero to set the zero reference for the stored calibration values.
Terminal The IND780 standard operation and setup screens are now selectable for display in
Russian and Portuguese (Brazilian) language. Keypad and Keyboard support for these
languages are also selectable.
Terminal New Counter Reset softkey and application key is now available. This key allows access
to the viewing and resetting of the terminal’s next transaction counter value and the
scale’s sequential number if enabled.
Web Server A Load Cell Symmetry screen is available for POWERCELL type scales. This screen
shows live load cell symmetry difference percentages when symmetry monitoring is
enabled.

Software Corrections for Issues in Version 5.1.08 - Basic Functionality

Section Description
Application With security turned on, modifying the target values using the Target softkey is only
possible with an administrator access level. This issue is corrected with the access rights
reduced to a supervisor level.
Communication SICS host protocol commands like T, Z or S that rely on the stability of the scale, currently
are not affected by the Stability Timeout settings in the terminal. This issue is now
corrected.
Communication With the PLC message slots all assigned, deleting an existing message slot thereafter
may cause a miscalculation in the I/O sizing and consequently a communication error.
This issue is corrected.
Communication Power-up zero capture status bit was not reflected correctly in the Continuous and Multi-
Continuous outputs’ status byte. This issue is corrected.
Communication The test print function in the output template configuration did not work when a demand
output connection for that template was setup using a custom print trigger. This issue is
corrected.
Communication The “ (22 Hex) character when entered as a Type = String in the output template will
cause the rest of the template to be corrupted. This character is reserved for use by the
template parser in shared data. This issue is prevented by removing the capability to
directly enter this character in the output template. If the “ character is required, it can be
first stored as a template string and called up as a shared data field in the output template.
Communication It is corrected to prevent deletion of a non-assigned PLC message slot. This issue was
seen for PLC data formats: Integer, Division, Floating point and PLC template.

September, 2013 Page 11 / 17

METTLER TOLEDO
IND780 Revision History

Communication When modifying a PLC template data, specifying a string type Shared Data variable as
one of the template items will permit the length of that variable to be defined. However if a
variable with a maximum size larger than the total template size is used, the terminal does
not accept the shared data variable to begin with and changing of the length is not an
option. This issue is now corrected.
Home Screen The ^ character is removed from the A/N softkey selection since it is not a supported
character for user entry and that is reserved for the proper operation of shared data.
Maintenance When doing a Reset All in the maintenance branch, the discrete I/O configurations were
not cleared from shared data entirely, although the setup screen showed it as cleared.
This issue is corrected.
Scale The minimum and maximum limits for the Stability Motion Range setting consisted of too
many decimal places as shown on the “Entry Out of Range” error message. The error
message now describes the valid range as 0.1 – 99.9.
Scale Performing a Span calibration after a CalFREE calibration has been previously done with
a different Scale Geo Code than the current Load Cell Geo Code settings may have
caused a weight value deviation from the calibrated amount. This issue is corrected to
always reestablish current calibration parameters captured during a calibration process.
Scale Running CalFREE with the Metrology Switch (S-1) turned on will cause the terminal to
crash. This issue is corrected.
Scale When an IDNET scale channel is assigned to the SUM scale, initiating a pushbutton zero
on the SUM scale will wrongly trigger a “Zero Failed- Scale in Motion” error despite having
no motion on any of the scale channels. This issue is corrected.
Scale When the scale’s increment setting is configured for multi-range with increment sizes that
are round numbers (eg. 10, 20, 50, 100, etc), the displayed gross zero value will not
indicate the least significant zero digit after returning from the upper ranges to the first
weighing range. This issue is corrected.
System Info The System Information Recall Screen now correctly displays the TaskExpert application
Part Number value given by shared data variable AQ--03.
Terminal When a Dead Key such as the umlaut (double dot) is pressed on a non-English keyboard,
that character will not incorrectly display itself separately anymore.
Terminal When the clock is set for 12 hour time format, changing the hour or minute values at any
moment will force the a.m./ p.m. setting to a.m. This issue is corrected.
Web Server On the Scale Data screen, the Counts/Display Increment value was incorrectly calculated
when the scale was setup for more than 1 weighing range. This issue is corrected.

Version 6.1.08 Software Changes and Enhancements – Drive-780

Section Description
Database A new feature has been implemented to allow the operator to add a new A6 – A9 table
record (if enabled) during a vehicle transaction. The Runtime Additions setting in Setup >
Application > Drive-780 > Database > A6/A7/A8/A9 Table enables or disables this feature.
Temporary ID A new setting labeled “One Step ID Reset On” has been added. This setting defines the
highest sequential ID number that the terminal will automatically assign for a temporary ID
transaction before it resets back to use the lowest available ID number.

Software Corrections for Issues in Version 5.1.08 - Drive-780

September, 2013 Page 12 / 17

METTLER TOLEDO
IND780 Revision History

Section Description
Communication The Repeat Print softkey did not work to generate a duplicate print of the transaction ticket
for the last inbound or outbound transaction. This issue is corrected with the change that
the vehicle transaction number for the inbound and outbound tickets is stored in shared
data variable AK0321.

Software Corrections for Issues in Version 6.1.01 - Axle-780

Section Description
General When the Stability Filter is enabled, the terminal could incorrectly record an axle weight
value of zero. This issue is now corrected.

Software Corrections for Issues in Version 5.1.08 - Axle-780

Section Description
General Once an overload condition occurs, the "Overload Violation!" error message continues to
appear at the end of each subsequent transaction. This issue is corrected.
General The ESC softkey does not allow the user to escape from a vehicle transaction. The
software application must be restarted to recover from this condition. This issue is
corrected to allow the ESC softkey to escape from a transaction.
Terminal The Task 1, Task 2, Task 3 and Task List choices did not appear in the softkeys and
application keys selection lists. This issue is corrected.
Traffic Control At any point after a single transaction has been executed whereby the scale weight would
momentarily go above the threshold value, the Red traffic light would come on as
expected but not the Green light after the weight drops below the threshold value. This
issue is corrected.

Section Description
8142 Power-up zero capture status bit was not reflected correctly in the response to the “I”
8530 command associated with the 8142 and 8530 host protocol. This issue is corrected.

SMA The tare error status byte indicated by a “T” was not reflected correctly when a tare
command fails to execute for the SMA protocol. This issue is corrected.
SMA The weight data field response was indicating dashes instead of a weight value when the
scale is in an over capacity or under zero blanking condition. This issue is corrected to
show either a positive or negative weight in these out of range conditions.
SMA The protocol’s response to the “N” command was not accurately indicating the increment
size information when the scale is setup for more than 1 weighing range. This issue is
corrected.

Section Description
TE Command More descriptive error messages are returned to the application when an error condition
File & Database occurs while using the Execute SQL command in the standard and custom database
operations.
TE Command Improved the ReadSD$ and WriteSD commands by adding an optional offset and length
Program Control parameters to allow reading and writing to larger (> 500 bytes)shared data fields.

Software Corrections for Issues in Version 6.1.01 - TaskExpert

Section Description
TE Command An “Indexed Record Not Found” error may occur if a long variable name (> 16) was
File & Database specified in the application program. This issue is now corrected and a syntax error will be
returned if the variable name is specified incorrectly.
TE Command The DelRec command was not operating correctly to delete a record from an Index-
File & Database Sequential file. This would predominantly affect the last record. This issue is now
corrected.
TE Command The Input command was unable to read the last record in the Sequential file with the file
File & Database being opened, and consequently the terminal would fail to respond as normal. This issue
is now corrected.
TE Command A data corruption occurs when using the Input Line Command to read files larger than 500
File & Database bytes in Unicode mode. This issue is now corrected.

TE Command The Security command was not implemented correctly. This issue is now corrected.
Miscellaneous
TE Command When using the Connect function to initiate a socket connection and then repeatedly
Interfaces closing and re-opening the connection in a short amount of time could cause a memory
leak. This issue is now corrected.
TE Command If the terminal receives a fast input of serial data for entry into a textbox object, the textbox
Interfaces may not be populated correctly. This issue is now corrected.

TE Interpreter A running application program that accesses a remote IND780 terminal could be aborted
unexpectedly if the connection to the remote terminal fails. The firmware has been
changed to allow the program to continue running and furthermore return an error status in
the event of an error.

Version 6.1.01 Software Changes and Enhancements - TaskExpert

Section Description
Shared Data Two new shared data variables have been added to allow an application to monitor the
performance of the program execution. XD0173 stores the amount of time in the last
minute that the TaskExpert program spends idling in Sleep and WaitEvent instructions.
XD0174 stores a counter value of the number of instructions executed in the each minute.

TE Command The number of display font objects has been increased from 4 to 8. Changes to the
Display & SetFont command include a Courier New font and font sizes = 10, 12, 14, and 16 pt.
Keyboard Objects
TE Command There is a new SetColors command that allows setting of the background and foreground
Display & colors on the TaskExpert application window. 8 different colors are provided such as
Keyboard Objects black, red, blue, green, white, orange, yellow and purple.

TE Command Four additional font colors are now available to commands such as DrawText, DrawSD,
Display & TextBox, ComboBox, DataGrid, and Scroll.
Keyboard Objects
TE Command A new custom BarGraph object is available to be displayed on the TaskExpert application
Display & window. This object can be controlled in terms of its size, orientation, color and the Shared
Keyboard Objects Data variable source.

TE Command The DataGrid command now allows a title text to be defined for display on top of the
Display & datagrid object.
Keyboard Objects
TE Command The Setpoint Setup function now supports Rate as a source to use in the target
Scale comparison function.

TE Interpreter TaskExpert Interpreter is now able to run programs using Unicode encoding rather than
the traditional 8-bit ASCII encoding of the program data in order to support Chinese,
Russian, and other international character sets. It will read program files that are in either
Unicode or ASCII encoding. When it detects program files that are in ASCII format, it will
firstly convert the programs to Unicode internally before execution.

Software Corrections for Issues in Version 5.1.08 - TaskExpert

Section Description
TE Command When an application was exited with a TextBox still in focus, some of the keys did not
Display & reset back to the terminal’s front panel control. This issue is corrected.
Keyboard Objects
TE Command The SmartTrac was not functioning correctly when the Weight Display is disabled by the
Display & TaskExpert application. This issue is now corrected.
Keyboard Objects
TE Command The Weight Display object did not display all the weight data for multiple scales correctly in
Display & instances when the application was changing the display when it is being drawn. This
Keyboard Objects issue is corrected.

TE Command The Write command in TaskExpert did not append a CR/LF to the end of the statement. It
File & Database only appends a LF. This issue is corrected.

TE Command When writing data to the standard database tables, a comma character acted as a
File & Database delimiter to the data string. Any characters after the comma did not get written to the table.
This issue is corrected to allow the comma character to be included as part of the data.
TE Command The Width command did not function properly. The IND780 did not print any text to the file
Interfaces until the last characters. All the previous characters appeared to be omitted. This issue is
corrected.

TE Command If the destination path is null with just a filename specified when using the FTPSend
Interfaces command, the terminal’s scale functions would crash. This issue is corrected to make the
terminal return an error to the application instead of crashing.
TE Command When using a serial input in TaskExpert, the Width In command did not readjust the input
Interfaces width of a serial string as expected. This issue is corrected.

TE Command The WriteSD command does not write to the specified shared data correctly. This issue is
Program Control corrected.

TE Command The Replication Add function was not working correctly to add a database subscription
Remote DB and hence not returning the correct status. This issue is corrected.

TE Interpreter If a negative integer was used for the index of an array, the IND780 terminal crashes. This
issue is corrected to prevent the crash and also return a syntax error to the application.

Known Major Issues in Version 6.1.08

Section Description
Application The Alibi memory does not record the decimal point correctly for weights captured in the
nd rd
2 and 3 range of a Multi-Range scale base.
Application If the IDNet base is configured as an approved Class II measurement device, the Alibi
memory does not record the decimal point correctly for the captured tare weight.
Application No weight units are associated with the weight values shown in the Totals Recall screen
and the Totals report.
Communication With the EtherNet/IP - Modbus TCP DHCP mode enabled, the terminal may not display
the server assigned IP address correctly.
Communication If a record in any of the terminal’s log files has a null (00H) or a space (20H) character in
the lower order byte of the Julian date, the respective record will be left out in the FTP file
download process.
Communication An unexpected “552 Exceeded Storage Allocation” error is returned while trying to upload
a 0 byte *.csv file via FTP to the terminal’s flash memory.
Scale If the IDNet base is configured for the Multi-Range mode, the IND780 does not display the
increment sizes correctly when switching between the ranges.
Scale Between different scale types, the terminal is inconsistent with its display of the decimal
point and the least significant zero on the weight screen when Multi-Range or Multi-
Interval scale mode is used.
Scale If the IDNet T-brick base is configured as an approved Class II measurement device, the
terminal does not represent the least significant digit correctly as stipulated by OIML
requirements.
