will be assumed.

3.0 BASIS OF CALCULATIONS:

The new equipment heat dissipation in the propose 2.6 X 3 G. I. Shelter is based on
infomations.
The heat gain calculations include for the following factors:

- Solar and building fabric loads.

- Internal equipment loads.
- Personal loads.
- Light loads.

The existing cooling capacity is depending on the existing cooling system which will be taken
depending on site survey. The Psychometric chart is depending on the existing condition.

INTERNAL HEAT GAIN:

People:
Qpe = Number of People X Total Heat Gain (KW)

For medium work 86.0 Watts SENSIBLE HEAT is generated from one person as per ASHRAE
Handbook. We have selected 1 person for 2.6 X 3 G. I. Shelter
Therefore:
Qpe = 1 X 86.00
Qpe = 86.00 Watts (Refer to attachment 7.4 )
Qpe = 0.086 KW

Light Heat Dissipation:

Qlg = 22.22 Watts/m2 (This factor was given by client)

S.F. : Safety Factor

From the above calculation we found that the sensible heat gain of the 2.6 X 3 G. I. Shelter
is 2.97 KW.

SYSTEM EVALUATION:

From our calculation and survey:

The sensible heat load = 2.974 KW
The sensible cooling capacity for the2.6 X 3 G. I. Shelter = 7.31 KW
0 0
Outside Conditions: Td = 35.00 C Tw = 20.70 C
0
Inside Conditions: Td = 22.00 C

As per existing cooling system detail, final equipment layout, and subsequent manual and Carrier
software calculation. The existing Air Conditioning Unit can satisfactorily withstand the heat load
from new setup of Hence there is no mechanical scope of work.
