Job Description / Duties and Responsibilities:

 Determine quantities, shapes and location of reinforcing rods from

blueprints, sketches or oral instruction.
 Review blueprints or specification to determine work requirements.
 Space and fasten together rods in forms according to blueprints using
wire and pliers.
 Install fencing or other barriers.
 Position and secure steel bars, rods, cables or mesh in concrete form,
using fasteners, rod bending machines, or hand tools.
 Cut rods to required lengths, using metal shears, hack saw, bar cutters,
or acetylene torches.
 Place blocks under rebar to hold the bars of the deck when reinforcing
floors.
 Cut and fit wire mesh or fabric, using hooked rods, and position fabric
or mesh in concrete to reinforce concrete.
 Bend steel rods with hand tools or rod bending machines and weld
them with arc-welding equipment.
 Flexible in other work and can do multi tasking.
 Ensure the safety in working area by using proper PPE.
 Do housekeeping in the jobsite after work.
