July 2018 – June 2019 Root cause analysis of corrosion on the impeller shaft of a
scrubber exhaust fan and recommendation to avoid recurrence.
Outline:
Analyzed the main cause of corrosion on hub and shaft joint and identified the root cause. Different tests have to
be performed on the samples of hub and shaft material in order to draw a conclusion. The recommendation has
to be given to avoid recurrence.
August 2018 – December 2018 Vibration Analysis of a motorbike to find the vibration
transmission to the hand and the back.
Outline:
Vibration analysis of motorbike was done using accelerometer present in the smartphones and results were
interpreted using MATLAB and using sliding window methods to find transmissibility to handle and the seat. The
maximum transmission was found to be in the handle (hand) in range of 12 to 46% of the engine vibrations.
