TPA 1 Goals:
• Know the content and how to teach it (Standard 2)
• Engage in professional learning (Standard 6)
• Engage professionally with parents and the community (Standard 7)
Reflection:

These weeks have given me opportunity to research content and understand how to implement ACARA into lessons in the context o f Willunga HS. For
example, for each class I have completed unit plans that consider the context of Willunga HS and their students. Additionally, have incorporated the
AITSL standards to qualify how to implement the content to a graduate standard.

Engaging in professional learning has been undertaken every Tuesday afternoon at after school meeting, and with mentor teacher and other staff. For
example, Willunga HS identified literacy as a limiting factor in student performance. Therefore, meetings were conducted to identify strategies to
incorporate into lessons, each teacher committed to implement a specific strategy and report back in the coming weeks. My students will learn about
word association to increase their literacy capacity in attempt to improve Willunga HS literacy.

Solutions identified in TPA 1 were implemented successfully. However, they should continue to be implemented in the coming weeks to continue to
compile resources, content and strategies to implement it. Additionally, emailing to parents has not occurred and should be considered for the
remaining weeks.

Goals for remaining weeks:

Engage professionally with parent and community needs more focus. Specifically, community engagement has been sound, however, parent
engagement has been insignificant. Equally, there have been no negative incidents or problems during class. Although, engagement with parents
should not require negative circumstances, all things considered, focus to engagement with parents will be implemented during the remaining weeks.

Compile additional resources, content and how to teach it. Even though it is not relevant to current units of work. This can be compiled for future
reference as a teacher. Notably, resources should not be limited to content, but include administration work such as consent forms, organising
templates and professional learning worksheets.

Finally, continue to implement habitual processes that ensure class lessons run and end smoothly. For example, inventory of i tems outgoing and
incoming, processing student requests such as toilet breaks, inappropriate questions and behaviour management.
