“THE POSSESSION OF HANNAH GRACE”

The movie entitled “The possession of Hannah Grace”, is a supernatural horror film directed by
Diederik Van Rooijen and written by Brian Sieve and was released on November 30, 2018. We know,
that corpses are scary as human body become lifeless and starts to decay which suits all our thoughts
and memories because it reminds us of our fleeting mortality . In theory, this movie was intended to be
dark, but they probably didn’t mean for it to be visually impossible to understand, which makes it quick
and ends up to be a horror film movie. But this is not actually an exorcism movie rather, it’s about the
corpse of a girl who dies during an exorcism. It results in further damage months later at a morgue.
Instead it’s about a woman working in a morgue where one of the corpses refuses to stay still, that really
made the movie darned scary.

In the beginning of the movie Hannah Grace is tied to a bed with priests standing around her
praying and splashing her with holy water. The evil inside her already took control of her and is
impossible to cast it out of her body—she killed one priest that pushed her desperate father to smother
her that became the cause of her death.Three months later this women character named Megan was
shown in the movie who applied a job in a morgue and will have his first graveyard shift. Stoic Megan is
a former cop battling demons and substance abuse issues; newly clean, she hopes for a fresh start at
the morgue and this is basically all we know about this character. In her first day, she introduced to her
job and taught how to use the machines in the morgue that needs for getting information about the
dead body. The next day Megan returns to work that night and finds a hooded man standing outside
asking her to let him in the morgue. She didn’t immediately trust the man and the man started to angrily
order her to let him in until Megan threatens to call the security. Moments later, shows up a body of a
young women who was apparently being mutilated as she was found but she didn’t realize that the man
secretly went inside the morgue. She tries to take pictures of the body, but the camera and computer
don't work and a lot of weird things starts to happen, when she goes back to see the body, she notices
flies around Hannah, and a whole swarm of them when she lifts off her sheets, but this turns out to be
a hallucination. The man tried to steal the body but he was stopped by began and began to fight and
the man didn’t succeed. Weirds things continues to happen until Hannah successfully regain her
strength by relies on noises, cracking and creaking sounds that telegraph her evil motives, before
engaging in some unintelligible rampage that leads to a minor character’s grisly demise. First he killed
one of the security guard and next is her friend. After all of that happened Megan didn’t notice a thing
Megan saw the guy who is trying to get in and take Hannah’s body he told everything to Megan but when
they tried to burn Hannah she fight back and instead burn her dad. Megan was trying to escape until
his ex came and tried to protect her but the evil is inside Hannah is stronger Hannah and grace made
eye contact and when Megan shot Hannah with gun Hannah died and immediately Megan burn her
body to end the evil that will not get out of Hannah’s body.

This movie is scary and not boring because there are a lot of jump scares that really catches my
interest, the other reason why I like this movie because It shows what is inside the morgue which usually
can’t be seen by people and I like that part where Megan the main character was taught how to take
pictures of the body and take the dead bodies finger print with the use of machines. And this movie
become scarier because it has a natural setting and it’s like a normal day but then something happened
that you didn’t expect to happen.

In conclusion the movie is really scary because it shows what might happen to the dead body of
the possess person if the body is not burned, if the movie is true or not it is still disturbing especially if
someone is planning to work inside the morgue. But at the same time I would suggest this movie to
people who are interesting in someone who is possess or likes to watch horror movie.

“The turtle and the monkey”

The short story entitled “The turtle and the monkey” was originally written by Dr. Jose
P. Rizal the national hero of the Philippines. Jose Rizal wrote this story to make Filipino’s
realize that they were being mistreated by Spaniards during the Spanish colonization, the
main purpose why Jose Rizal wrote this short story because he wants to expose Spaniards
mistreatment to the Filipinos.

The story starts with the monkey and the turtle both being hungry. The monkey
suggest to the turtle that they should find food together, they both started to walk until they
found a plant and dug it out from the ground to claim it that it’s theirs. Since they both need
to have a part the monkey decided to get the part that has leaves on and the turtle accepted
to have the plant that has roots on it. They both planted the plant, after a week they come
back to check if there plants grew and have fruit. But the plant that the monkey panted was
dead and the turtle’s plant already had leaves and fruit. The turtle however, can’t climb the
tree because the monkey was angry for what happened so the monkey volunteered to climb
up and take the fruit and to throw the fruit to mister turtle. But when the monkey climbed
up he ate all the fruit and didn’t give mister turtle his part. Mister turtle decided to put
thorns under the tree so when mister monkey came down he did not notice that there were
thorns he shouted and wants to seek revenge. Mister monkey said that he will burn mister
turtle but mister turtle said that his house can’t be burned, then mister monkey said that he
will cut mister turtle but the shell of mister turtle can’t be cut. For the last he decided to
throw mister turtle into the sea knowing that mister turtle will drown but mister monkey was
shock because mister turtle can swim.

I like this story because it gives a lot of message if you know the purpose or who the
author’s is, even though it is not real or realistic you will learn a lot of lesson in the story. I
also like the story can easily be understood especially by children because the words are
simple and the character are animals.

I recommend this story to children because I know that they will enjoy it and I also
want teenagers to understand the meaning behind this story that was made by our own
national hero Dr. Jose P. Rizal.
