LESSON PLAN IN MUSIC 8


JULY 30, 2019

I. OBJECTIVES:
a. Be able to compare and appreciate the similarities, differences and uniqueness
in each art movements
b. Be able to analyze how the elements of art and principles of design applied in
each movements
c. Be able to create examples of art in any movements showing understanding of
the elements and principles of art.

III. LEARNING PROCEDURE:

Pair – Share
The class will be divided into three groups. They will classify the
pictures of artworks according to 20th century art movements.
Each art movements will have two pictures of artwork.

20th Century Art Movements:


1. Impressionism
2. Expressionism
3. Abstractionism
4. Abstract Expressionism
5. Contemporary Art Forms

 Analysis
Guide questions:
Describe how your group classified or paired the pictures.
What was your basis in grouping these pictures of the artworks?
 Abstraction
Brief discussion and presentation of sample artworks of
famous 20th century artists.

 Application

1. The participants will be grouped into seven (7). Each group will
be assigned to a particular art movement and they will create a sample
artwork.

Group:
 Impressionism
 Expressionism
 Abstractionism
 Abstract Expressionism
 Pop Art
 Installation Art
 Performance Art

2. The participants will be grouped per region. Using the matrix


below, each group will make a plan of activities as to how they will apply
the concepts of Differentiated Instruction, Localization and
Contextualization in the different topics.
Present your output to the class.

V. ASSIGNMENT

Having learned about and understood the concepts and techniques of


each art movements, you can now prepare your ipasto artwork at the end
of the quarter.

1. Properly label your artwork with an original title, your name, the
date and techniques used (ipasto)
2. The teacher will store the finished artworks of inclusion in the
exhibit at the end of the quarter.
